Fixed it for you, Solar, based on Bergg's defining of a republican man/woman.

Most likely, I am in fine company.

There is nothing sacred about DIMS or PUBS. Both have done their fair share of damage to the Republic.
Of course they are both corrupt, but that is the very nature of politics.
Do you identify more with the Pubs or Dims, Shooter?

Neither, Solar. I voted PUB for over 40 years. Never voted for a DIM for Pres. Voted for Perot, once. The DIMS left me many moons ago. The PUBS have followed suit.

Do I have to be one or the other, or can I just be me?

Nice dodge. You're only bull shitting yourself if you think we buy your independent status.
You identify more with the Pubs than the Dims, you vote Pub far more than you do Dim, am I right?

Shooter, everyone here is pissed at both parties, but I think it's safe to say that we are even more pissed at the GOP.
But when another party can take the Conservative reins, you let us know.

Wow, this topic has turned into a stereotype/pigeonhole/MSM brainwashing/DNC playbook/MSNBC extravaganza!

I haven't seen this much partisan political excrement since the last time I accidentally stumbled into the Huffington Post or channel-surfed past Keith Olberman's show.

Republicans rich.  Republicans evil bankers.  Republicans are leeches who latch onto whatever group will support them.  What a bunch of BULLSHIT.

Everybody SHOULD have their own set of core values, core beliefs, and core morals.  Those traits are the FOUNDATION of how you conduct your life, and the determining factor of who you decide to vote for when you step into the voting booth.

This Democrat/Republican/liberal/conservative/far left/far right labeling NONSENSE solves and proves NOTHING.  You are what you are, and no "label" is required.

Your post is quite confusing.  Could you and would you consider clarifying it?  Thanks.

Of course I identify more with PUBS if they're conservative, but I damned sure am not wed to the unholy bastards and I damned sure am not convinced the mealy mouthed assholes will do anything less over the long haul that what they did before. Given half the chance, they will fall in line with DIMS in a heart beat. I may be uneducated, but I am not delusional.

OK, I'll simplify for you.

Core beliefs.  Good.

Core values.  Good.

Core morals.  Good.

Independent thinking.  Good.

Democrat Party.  Who cares.

Republican Party.  Who cares.

Conservatives acknowledge change is inevitable, and (if you listen to Donks) perversely vow to slow it down as much as humanly possible until we (as a society) can actually grasp and adapt to whatever results from that change.

Conservatives worth talking to also acknowledge that today's GOP is not a conservative party, and I agree with you this crew would slither left in a heartbeat just to remain in office.

Our job as conservatives is to obstruct liberals and protect us from the RINO bastards who think and spend like Dems. It's to the Republican Party's shame the current crop of craven thieves has forgot what got their party started, to begin with.

The only way to change the voter mentality is to unhinge the two-party mentality. Few voters care to leave that comfort zone, wary of the havoc multiple-party coalitions have done in other, supposedly free countries.

Sorry, Solar, but your translation skills need sharpening. I'm an Old Right conservative/libertarian, a far, far cry from some of the watered down versions floating around now.

Sarcasm escapes you? ;) ;D
It may have been sarcasm, but 'tis true, nevertheless. I am not like most conservatives here.
