They meaning both parties are all in it together.   If you actually think that one party is any better than the other than you haven't been paying any attention and I don't mean for just the past 4-5 years.

If all of this comes to be, it will be one of the biggest government intrusions into our lives ever. Considering that it's not being talked about anywhere, I don't see how the republicans can't be part of it.

Yet another link to a DHS mission that I haven't ever heard of. The Environmental Justice Strategy.....

http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/mgmt/dhs-environmental-justice-strategy.pdf

Communication on initiatives related to environmental justice will implement the DHS Guidance to Federal Financial Assistance Recipients Regarding Title VI Prohibition Against National Origin Discrimination Affecting Limited English Proficient Persons (http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/laws/gc_1277242893223.shtm, along with multi-lingual summaries), and with the Department's forthcoming language access plan.

We are well past the standards for impeachment on about 20 issues.

When does somebody who gives a schyte about America stand up and grow a pair  ?

Now I know that it can't get past the senate, and probably even the RINOs in the house.

But damn, somebody with any sense of patriotism left should just fall on his or her sword, and propose articles of impeachment on every crime and end-run the guy has done.

One after the other, just submit the documents to start the process.  One per day for about a month.

Maybe every one gets shot down in minutes or hours, but this person will go down in history as just about our last great country(wo)man.

I don't know how there can't be this person out there.  What's a better thing to do, just sit around and watch it all unfold, like a mouse  ?

Benghazi is 1000X worse than Watergate.  Somebody should be riding this like Woodward / Bernstein did, or Karen Silkwood, or whomever.

It won't be a MSM type, that's for certain.  But it could be a talk radio type or a rep / senator.

........yet, each day it seems like we are again pelted with a so-called issue that supposedly needs straightened out from Bush's term.  Bush is looking better every day compared to the total mess we are in.  Bush supposedly got us into a war that we should have never fought.  Get the irony from his situation where he announced that "intelligence reports" were saying that there were WMDs in Iraq and so he made the decision to intercede just after the 911 event.  On the other hand, Oliar and Clintoon came on the TV a day after the Benghazzi event and told us that "intelligence" said that a relatively unknown film against Islam was behind the murder by terrorists of 4 Americans, giving us the blame we didn't deserve-end of story as far as those two are concerned.  Bush won't ever be able to live down his history of being a war monger even though intelligence told him that Iraq was in the wrong.  BTW, congress was all in for the attack on Iraq, and so were the American public.  Remember the chants of "awaking a sleeping giant' (again) and everyone breaking their necks to get a flag to perch on their carhoods in show of patriotism and solidiarity?  That sure didn't last long, did it?

I'm pretty depressed right now.
Public discussion on this topic was opened on Friday, and it ends in April. By the end of 2013, CO2 will be considered to be a major pollutant, and will be regulated by the EPA. In the meantime, I'm being treated like a crazy heretic on an engineering forum.

It seems like being a rational, small government conservative, earns you nothing but enemies these days.

People really don't think that our government is capable of doing anything that will hurt them; hence, this thread title.

Sounds like you are on a liberal form when you visit the one you cited.  One of their tactics is name call and put down.  The sheer nastiness keeps me away from those type forums.  It takes more intelligence to speak and write your opinions decently than to feel like you gain any points with all of that stuff added in.  All the cussing and stuff are just window dressings for an opinion I normally don't read anyway.  Don't let their ignorance bother you, if they live long enough they will remember their harshness to you.

It's not a political forum at all. I don't care about being attacked; I'm used to it.

The depressing part is, that engineers, that depend on critical thinking skills to make a living, completely throw them in the trash when it comes this government abuse. They either curl up in the fetal position and hide from it, which is most of them, or they get mad because I'm talking bad about government. It doesn't compute.

I wonder if Solar would mind if I linked the thread? Nobody has to register to read it, and it's interesting to read the leftist arguments coming from a guy that I know is really smart. Plus, it's kind of entertaining.

Intelligent people can have horrible opinions. I read a blog thats controversial in norway.
One thing he mentioned while debating a leftist was that people who are generally less intelligent (now we are talking relative terms, i.e normal mechanic less intelligent than a nuclear phycisist) are more prone to have been wrong, therefore are more sceptical and critical about issues because they know that just because something feels right, it doesnt mean that its the correct answer. Generally this is people who did mediocre/average in school. Then you have the more intelligent kid who understand math/physics more easy and are therefore during childhood more used to being correct when something feels correct and is less sceptical and critical about things that feel right but maybe is not. And we all know that when you are older and have more comprehensive world view that feeling based politics (i.e liberals) is wrong and that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, this something a person with more critical thinking is more liable to understand because he is used to being wrong about taking things on face value, whereas the person used to being right is more comfortable going with feeling based politics/ideology.

The best example of this is the climate change hysteria. Here you have intelligent people all following the herd, just because its feel good to be green and that it seems right on face value. That being said this is all just generalization and I'm not even sure its applicable, but it was a interesting thought imo.

Here's the thing about pasting links, especially leftists links, you are helping boost their credibility by us backlinking them.
Google views these as credible links and boosts the site being linked to when people search for related topics.
So if you want to boost a leftist site, just post a link.

If a lousy site posts a back link, google rates it as high as the site it was pasted on, but if we post that same link, google assigns it our credibility rating, which puts it on googles first page of search returns.

No, it's not a leftist site. It's the engineering site. Most people stayed out of the conversation, but it amazes me that people that I know are intelligent, are completely bamboozled by the left. I won the debate, or at least I think I did. At the very least, I got people thinking, which was my whole point.

I try to get as many people as possible to take a closer look at the Obama regime and their tactics.

Yeah, that one is fine, they have our links as well.

I kind of wrote this for everyone and used your post as a sounding board.
It's one reason I love original posts that no other site has, it causes other sites to link here, in turn raising our credibility.

I've heard some funny things about the "save the world crowd".  It was in the context of liberalism, and how they don't care if it makes no sense at all, is counterintuitive, dishonest, illogical......they just want to be part of something that makes them part of "caring" or "helping".  I guess that's how they don't care about the obvious BS of AGW, or everything Obama says.....like the truth is just an inconvenient impediment for feeling good about "saving the world" somehow.

It's a lot like the polls right now.  Huge %'s say that virtually everything is wrong, yet Obama's popularity is strong.  It's like people aren't rational enough, or can't be bothered, to connect Obama to anything real.   Like he's their favorite sexy soap opera character, and they will not allow him to be connected to the disaster that he's created.

Worst part is that this has always been a liberal condition.  But in the last 10 years, the GOP RINO's have rushed to compete for "saving the world" and "caring and loving", even if they have to be as full of s**t as the liberals.
