And after the bump stocks are banned, and the high capacity magazines are banned, and the assault rifles,(personally, any gun I see pointed at me I consider an "assault" rifle) are all banned, is there any liberal out there who thinks the killings will stop? When the next killer uses semi auto pistols will they be the next ban? When the next killer after semi auto pistols are banned uses a revolver, will the revolver be next in line to ban? Do liberals have a game plan for getting 300,000,000 guns off the streets?( If so, let them test it out in Chicago first.)  If this problem is to be solved, it will have to be solved on every local level, by getting the local community and its citizens involved on what is best for them and to stop looking to the federal government for answers. Citizen involvement, holding people responsible, and trust in law abiding citizens can solve this better than government banning. This last mass shooting just like several before it had warning signs which were ignored, add to that a sheriff department which ignored its pledge "duty to protect" and you have a problem no ban can solve.

Getting a bit off topic, and I'm in the middle of the detour.

Point is, there are still situations where full-auto can be of benefit - even if one still needs to limit themselves to short bursts.

But the second and main point - liberty is not based on "need", or even what may any one or group may consider what is practical.

IMO, the National Firearms Act of 1934 should be repealed in it entirety. WE are the PEOPLE and the government has NO BUSINESS infringing on our right to arms.  Laws which prohibit firearms violent felons are the ONLY laws which follow the Constitution, because rights can only be curbed via due process.

We trained with M16-A1s, which didn't have the burst option. Quick bursts were the standard we were trained to aspire to.

8 - 30rd mags, 4 each in two belt pouches, plus the starter mag.  Anyone who ran out of ammo before end-X got to run 5 extra laps around the track (880 yds) while the rest of us cheered them on.

Since we were not technically combat units (HHC-, heavy separate brigade), we didn't have 60s to back us up. Stressful, but I actually enjoyed the fire and maneuver drills almost as much as I enjoyed playing OpFor against battalion scouts.
Yeah, they pounded us on 3 rnd burst, and for some unknown reason, I just couldn't do it, luckily I wound up in signal/Intel and my deployments afforded me one M-16 gunner, and an M-60 guard, while I was stuck with a bulky 45. They claimed it was to free me up to do my job.

Exactly Right!
I wrote about this and other shit the so-called "Great Generation" stole from us.
We would not be in this boat had they actually been awake and not voting in Marxists at the time.

Yeah, how is it no sees the real truth behind it?
Just look to the UK murder rate and it's not even guns and they have seriously strict laws governing knives, like to carry one has to be part of your job, like chef, otherwise, they arrest you, yet people still manage to have knives?
Yep, that's lib logic, make criminals out of people attempting to protect themselves.

What you said- "And after the bump stocks are banned, and the high capacity magazines are banned, and the assault rifles,(personally, any gun I see pointed at me I consider an "assault" rifle) are all banned, is there any liberal out there who thinks the killings will stop? "... it seems that our major difficulty is thinking the liberals do actually think. The entire assault from the left is one of emotions and "feelings". No thoughts/thinking seem to be part of their cognitive processes.

We need to differentiate between liberal politicians, and the brain dead pod eating zombies that support all the freebies they're promised.

The masses are the ones acting on emotion, because the education system has stamped out anything resembling cognizant reason.

The politicians - you can bet they think. The opposition is not stupid, not by a long shot. If they were actually as stupid as the crap they sell their supporters, we would not be having the troubles we have. And, you can bet you can bet your last pair of socks they have a definitive plan: and that plan is total, complete tyrannical domination, nothing less.  Hence the constant push for a policy already proven on multiple levels to be abject failure every time. They need us disarmed to finalize their agenda.
