Too expensive. Well Freakin "DUH"....

California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he's ending the state's effort to build a high-speed rail line between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Newsom said Tuesday in his State of the State address it "would cost too much and take too long" to build the line long championed by his predecessor, Jerry Brown. Latest estimates pin the cost at $77 billion and completion in 2033.

Newsom says he wants to continue construction of the high-speed link from Merced to Bakersfield in California's Central Valley. He says building the line could bring economic transformation to the agricultural region.

And he says abandoning that portion of the project would require the state to return $3.5 billion in federal dollars.

Newsom also is replacing Brown's head of the board that oversee the project and is pledging to hold the project's contractors more accountable for cost overruns.

How much did they waste already? How much progress was done?
Social Media are multi-national billion dollar corporations with foreign investors that are going unchecked with the power to effect our election process.

"Book burnings" have evolved into "de-plat forming". Its the same principles behind both: to eliminate accessible knowledge.

$77 bbbbbbbbbbbillion!!!!!!!!! Anything to show for it? Can anyone ride the bullet for any distance - say five miles?

I could build a bridge to Hawaii by 2033 for $77 billion dollars.

Someone's walking around with pockets full of bullet train money. Probably the Clintons.

It was projected to go over 100 billion within a years time as more and more hands wanted part of the till.
Problem is, a regular train could do the route in the same amount of time, because of the milk run it would be forced to make due to all the out of the way stops it would be forced to make.

Wasn't this train part of the AOC Green New Deal (GND)? Oh ... no ... it is  only an example of one of many light rail trains that will obviously displace jets and automobiles. Seems viable so far ... not.

Don't get me wrong ... I'm all for more viable technology that can ease the load on the environment. The keyword is to show viability. I didn't see that in the GND.

California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars. They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster!

I wonder what's really behind this.
Power and panic.
Fuglosi fears losing power, and Newsom Nuisance didn't want Moonbeams "Crony Anchor" hanging around his neck.
These groups didn't help elect him so he has no loyalty to them, but he owes Fuglosi a billion favors, so he answered her dog whistle when she wanted to send a message to AOC and her freshman butt buddies.

Fuglosi knows knows she's dealing with a house full of venomous snakes, ready to take her out. This was her way of saying "This Old Snake Has a Real Bite" and is willing to take out 70 of them if necessary to remain in power.
There is a serious problem in the Dim party, and I highly doubt this was anywhere near enough to wrangle these Marxists into line, if anything, it put an even bigger target on her back.

Keep in mind, this was also a message to the monied backers on the left, that they need to keep supporting her and not these Freshman, or in particular, the idiot AOC.

Just my take after watching Fuglosi's machine in Ca. for decades. Bet Willy Brown would say pretty much the same.
