In Why is the US Avoiding The Immigration Component of The Economic Crisis? Michael Cutler talks about jobs.

And he's getting a bit snarky now, because he's noticed the politicians aren't taking a blind bit of notice of anything he has sold them over the past 10 years.

"Where today's news article is concerned, I will ask a slightly different question:

'If jobs are created or returned to America, does it make a damned bit of difference if American citizens don't get those jobs?'"

This has to be one of the biggest elephants in the room, a room that is no bigger than a large living room.
But the problem is, it's full of elephants, and the pols are avoiding all of them.

Get rid if the illegal, and for everyone removed, is a job added to the employment list.
Language is another, along with culture, (I sound like Savage).
Energy, I don't hear the Pubs telling us how they plan to build nuclear plants, or expand drilling, or stop the madness/stupidity that is the Green movement, (communism in disguise), nope, not one word.

Sure, were getting the socialists out of power, but I hear nothing about giving the Country back to it's citizens.

When you say, "Get rid [of] the illegal, and for everyone removed, is a job added to the employment list," you're being optimistic that all those same illegals had actually found jobs that native-borns wouldn't take. At least the HONEST jobs.

I agree that we ALL have heard nothing about giving America back to its citizens. I do NOT agree we are getting the socialists out of power. (1) the elections haven't happened yet, and (2), you overlook the underlying entrenched bureaucracy, some 70% of which is frankly liberal in outlook.

We need a complete political purge within U.S. and individual state governments, to sweep away the idea of redistribution of personal income. We need a mirror-image October 17 revolution of our very own, not sweeping socialists in but instead brooming them out.

At the very least, a new Republican presidency should focus on streamlining and downsizing federal government, and therefore spending. It's equally valid that incumbent bureaucrats would fight this with their dying breaths, to avoid being tossed off the gravy train.

The opening volley happens this November 2, but will continue through at least the 113th Congress. Pelosi and Reid have driven America into the Mariana Trenches. The 111th Congress has shown an utter failure to perform even its Constitutionally-mandated job of passing a budget (or even a stopgap temporary bill). How much MORE basic a failure can any Congress achieve than THAT one?

So the 112th Congress is going to play catch-up, and will be Obama's last line of defense heading into the 2012 general race where any SENTIENT voter would see through him. The party which is expected to take a heavy beating will (in 2011-2012) be expected to say, "That was just a hiccup, we actually CAN do better --- so here's Hillary."

And when Obama gets knifed by his own party --- and I say he will --- all hell will break loose within the party, the bureaucracy, and the halfwit greedmeisters who support them. What will happen is the middle-road Dems will cave in to the socialists, just like they've done already, causing Obama-brand thievery to begin with.

"You can't afford my ideas," Hillary is famously quoted as saying. The Donks will toss Obama onto the woodpile and trot out Queen Spend instead. And the Donk voters will buy it because it IS a "new" face and NOT Obama, and so of COURSE America will go along with that...or so the Donks will assure themselves.

What will ALSO happen in the 112th Congress, the GOP will not capitalize while the Donks are on their asses. The go-along polo-shirt Republicans aren't known for their alley-brawling. They're too "niiiiiiiiiiice" to do that one. After all, they're keeping that loudmouth ignorant Micheal Steele, who can't badmouth American military policy enough.

As the Chinese say, we live in interesting times.

The native born would certainly take those jobs if they were attached to the welfare payments so generously bestowed on them.

So far, Quill, you're spot on.

There ain't that many Cons to pull that one off in  about 1000 years.

First of, we've played this silly ass game with PUB Presidents in the past and we continue to get a mish mash of increased government regardless what they promise and preach. I put little stock into what most say.

You may have some numbers backassward, but the concept is still pretty much spot on. The PUBS will do little.

OK let me rephrase that, "working illegal", none the less, they all need to go, and we close the gate behind them.

But I disagree, we are getting rid of the socialists left, what we have in the Pub party are not socialists, but rather the old democrats of yesteryear and we know what they turned into.

Point is, none of the party has addressed energy, border and the economy, and if they think they are going to pull a fast one, they are in for a shock in 2012.

I'm afraid either they know no more about how to address the aforementioned problems than DIMS, or are satisfied with the status quo.

That's the million dollar question!
Last time they had complete control of the economy, the left still managed to control energy in the Country, the borders were still ignored, and they still ran a deficit.

This is their last chance, or come 2012, they will be facing two opponents, the leftists, and the Conservatives.
There will be a third party.

Agreed. Incompetence and complacency abounds.
