Title: Ukraine
Post by: je_freedom on December 12, 2016, 07:47:32 PM
The media has been caterwauling about Ukraine for several years now,
and has yet to tell us anything meaningful about the situation.

To understand any country,
first you have to start by looking at some maps.
Here's a map showing the borders of Ukraine through history:

(https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2Fc%2Fcc%2FSimplified_historical_map_of_Ukrainian_borders_1654-2014.jpg&hash=5912cfc8f25ae4a7a42ebe5a24c551022f4d5ddf)

Notice, a large part of the country was added to it
AFTER it was conquered by the Soviet Union!
There's a reason for that.
The Soviets drew the borders to include millions of
Russian people and Russian-speaking Ukrainians
to make sure that Russian interests would win
whenever the Soviets conduct their sham elections.

This map shows where the ethnic Russians
and Russian-speaking Ukrainians live:

(https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.globalsecurity.org%2Fmilitary%2Fworld%2Fukraine%2Fimages%2Fmap-ethno-linguistic.jpg&hash=05ae43c3e85b75c8c3e06f3aa41638e11f7ddf45)

Notice how strongly the election results (below)
correlate to the ethnic makeup of the country:

(https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.globalsecurity.org%2Fmilitary%2Fworld%2Fukraine%2Fimages%2Fmap-election-2012-district.jpg&hash=747a59bbca494852276d63855b8ae05d5f97519c)

This map is at least as important as the historic and ethnic maps.
It shows the routes of the pipelines through which Russia
sells petroleum to Europe.

(https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocurrents.info%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2014%2F03%2FUkraine-pipelines-map.png&hash=55c34424aa1deae0a12ed0292b3a68c5b2712ad4)

When the Soviet Union disbanded in 1991,
there was the question of who would control the nuclear weapons
the Soviets had based in Ukraine.
The decision was made that the nukes would be given to Russia,
and in exchange for that,
the USA pledged to come to Ukraine's defense in case of attack.

Then the pipelines were built,
and Ukraine's strategic value increased.

Since 1991, Ukraine has been teetering between
alignment with Europe or with Russia.
A few years ago, Ukraine elected a pro-Russia president.
George Soros was very displeased by this,
so he sent some henchmen to assassinate their President
and conduct a coup.
So, in response, Russia invaded eastern Ukraine.
And we all witnessed the "robust response" by Obama,
in spite of the standing agreement to come to Ukraine's defense.
(George Soros must be awfully disappointed at
having such a wimpy puppet!)

I suggest the following solution:

Let Russia annex the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine,
and let the rest of Ukraine join NATO.
Establish a joint security force to protect the pipelines.

It seems to me that that solution would be
the most fair arrangement possible for all sides.

If Russia rejects it, that is a signal that
Vladimir Putin wants to conquer all of Ukraine.
If Europe rejects it, that is a signal that
George Soros wants to conquer all of Ukraine.

How much of the above information
has been reported by the "mainstream" media?
If you're wondering why not, consider:
the MSM is owned mostly by George Soros and his cronies.
That's why the MSM always reports the situation as
being a case of "Russian aggression"
and never reports the aggression by Soros' henchmen
as being the REAL cause of the ongoing crisis.

And now Donald Trump wants to appoint the President of Exxon
to be Secretary of State.
Do you think the President of Exxon would like to have a peaceful Ukraine
through which to buy Russian oil?
And do you think Mr Putin would like to have a peaceful Ukraine
through which to sell Russian oil?

Donald Trump might be the best thing that ever happened
to help bring about world peace!

Good job JE, lots of history there...

All things aside, the US sits in a position to dominate the oil industry through export alone, from crude to NG, we could make or break economies as well as destroy OPEC.
Fact is, when taken into perspective, ukraine is insignificant as a player if we flexed our strength in productivity, Russia would actually have to find another way to exist, other than strong arming little countries into working for them.

Language? Fast forward 40 years when the Dim party works on mexico's behalf to cede Ca and Texas to Mexico because a majority of the population speak Spanish.
Sound ludicrous? Who'd have predicted they'd have ushered in the first Marxist manchurian candidate 40 short years ago?
Destroying America is all they care about...

We are a Capitalist Nation!

This country is it's own worst enemy, and it all has to do with "Feeling" guilty because we produce under a functioning capitalist system.
Ask yourself, when you read the word Capitalist, did you feel a little disdain for the term?
If you are honest with yourself, a tiny percent of you did and it's not your fault, that's been the subliminal leftist message via media in this country for the last 40 years, that somehow you are to blame for all the ills of this planet, because you consume.

Remember the KKK Grand Wizard Byrd, when he said "Theyyysssss toooo, much consoooomin goin on."
Well, that's how the entire Dim party sees our country and why they've been trying for decades to destroy our capitalist way of life and nationalize all industry.
They want a socialist state so they can kneecap all industry. I don't say this lightly, outside of of Commie Green Energy, what industry does the left promote beside hate and division?

This was not to derail JE's thread, but rather to put it more into perspective in the bigger picture, in the way smaller nations are manipulated because we drop the ball in playing to our strengths, and instead, spend the next generations treasure through bribes to dictatorships to ally with us.
How ludicrous is that?

You raise a lot of good points.

What stops the USA from dominating world petroleum production is cost of production.
It costs about three times as much to extract a barrel of crude oil from Texas as it does from Saudi Arabia.
At current prices, either one still has a huge profit margin.

With fracking, just North Dakota has six times as much oil as Saudi Arabia!
But it costs $60 a barrel to get it.

If I advocate giving eastern and southern Ukraine back to Russia,
what's to stop someone else from advocating
the USA giving Texas through California back to Mexico?

In the 1800s, the U.S. government understood that it's not enough to just claim land.
You have to get your people living on it and occupying it.
(That explains the current government programs to DE-populate much of the West!)

The left has spent billions of dollars and millions of hours of airtime of their propaganda machine attacking capitalism.
This has trained millions of dumb masses to hate free trade among ourselves.
And of those of us with enough intelligence to know better,
it still has trained us to fear BEING hated by those dumb masses!

What Byrd really meant is that there are TOO MANY people enjoying a good life!
He's perfectly fine with Mr. Environmentalist, Al Gore
having a house that uses 20 times as much energy as any of our houses!
(That's not hyperbole.  That's the actual number!)

These days is not the first time that sort of thing has happened.
In the Old Testament, Nehemiah led Israel to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem.
He built up Israel's defense so they could stop paying their neighbors to not attack them!

Then why freeze govt land oil leases? Why charge exorbitant lease fees, taxes on oil producers?

Why do you suppose that is? Answer: Refineries and shipping costs, all controlled by the Govt regulations, which is why the left hates the idea of the pipeline.

Here's another on the subject regarding my point that we can decimate OPEC and own the worl market.

For OPEC, there are few enemies more fearsome than the tiny Oklahoma town of Cushing.

With oil inventories at Cushing creeping near an all-time high, U.S. benchmark futures prices are struggling to advance despite the promised production cuts agreed to by OPEC, Russia and other producers. And the storage tanks are likely to stay full as refiners park crude in Oklahoma to lower their tax bills.

Cushing, which prides itself as the "pipeline crossroads of the world," is the delivery point for the West Texas Intermediate crude contract. With tanks that can hold 77 million barrels of crude, enough to supply France for two months, it's the biggest storage hub in the U.S. The last high point there came in May. Now, after a brief hiatus, the tanks are filling up once again. For the OPEC-led efforts to boost prices, that's a major problem.

"Part of what OPEC, and in particular the Saudis want to do, is drain the swamp," said John Kilduff, a partner at Again Capital LLC, a New York-based hedge fund that focuses on energy. "To do that they will reduce deliveries to the U.S. That will eventually be felt at Cushing, but not in a long time."

Stockpiles rose by 1.22 million barrels last week, following a 3.78 million jump the previous week that was the biggest since 2008. The inflows have pushed up stocks to 66.5 million barrels, within a whisker of the all-time record of 68.3 million set in May. With the promise of production cuts sending forward prices up, that's encouraging traders and refiners to hold onto inventories, the last thing the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries wants to see.

"The near-term prognosis for Cushing balances is not particularly rosy," said Amrita Sen, chief oil analyst at consultants Energy Aspects Ltd.
