Not surprised but it's not really a flip flop. Trump is clever. Whenever he makes bold promises he always ads the making good deals caveat. That's his out. The only thing he seems to be sticking to regarding immigration is the wall and deporting illegals who commit crimes. I think he would gladly give up deporting dreamers and others if he got the wall, defunded sanctuary cities and deported illegal criminals. And if people complain he'll just say " I made the best deal I could".
The truth is it would take decades to deport all of them because they have to go through the courts. It was just red meat for his supporters.

Not if he enforced the law on hiring via E-verify. They'd self deport within a month, especially if the AG starts cracking down on govt charity via food stamps etc.

Yeah that was Cruz plan and Trump tried to claim it as his own, so now he owns it for his attempt at usurpation and he'll be held to it.

It's taken years to get this way, it will not get done in a year or two.  Self deporting and government deporting will all take time.  We may even need some new judges for that.  It will be like b o care the doctors can not keep up with the demand.
