The Red Eye Radio hosts are saying that Trump should stop the tweeting, and bring this message home directly to the American people, repetitively, via press conferences, "fireside chats", etc. The Dems should be cornered and FORCED to state their plans to solve the illegal immigration problem (which maybe they don't WANT solved), over and over again. THIS message: "They (Democrats) are so consumed with contempt for the president they're willing to gamble on our country's security – gangs, drug cartels and possibly even terrorists crossing the border. In their mind, it's better than the likely alternative – another four years of Trump in the White House."

I don't think he should stop tweeting but press conferences do force him to be a bit more disciplined.

I just saw his press conference after today's meeting with congressional leaders. He took questions for almost an hour. It continues to frustrate me how the media is so hung up on the term "wall". To be fair, Trump keeps it up as well. From the get go I heard the term "wall" as a simplistic way to put the complex issue of border security into one word. It was a brilliant way for Trump get his message through to his base. It may be time for Trump to expand his definition of the wall to the masses. His message of protecting the American people is still resonating throughout the country.
Another point of irritation with me is how McConnell undermined Trump last week with his voice vote to fund the government with no money for the wall. Now, the democrats are always referring to that voice vote as a reason to blame Trump for the whole shutdown issue. To me it was just McConnell not supporting Trump and his RINO senators were more than willing to jump on board.
