Title: Trump sculpture on Arctic glacier planned as climate-change protest
Post by: |Glitch| on May 13, 2018, 10:48:27 AM
QuoteTrump sculpture on Arctic glacier planned as climate-change protest (http://www.foxnews.com/science/2018/05/11/trump-sculpture-on-arctic-glacier-planned-as-climate-change-protest.html)

Although President Donald Trump might be skeptical of climate change (or global warming, if you prefer), activists in Finland hope to use the commander-in-chief's likeness to draw awareness to the issue.

They plan to carve Trump's image into the side of an Arctic glacier.

The group, called Melting Ice, is looking to raise 400,00 Euros (about $476,988) to fund "Project Trumpmore," and create the roughly 115 foot-tall ice sculpture in a glacier that is melting, yle.fi reported.

I'm really looking forward to the sculptor being calved upon by several hundred tons of ice.  It will reaffirm my belief in Darwin.  That will be the inevitable fate of any idiot stupid enough to get close enough to the face of a receding glacier.

Regarding the quote:
Given that Radiometric Dating, a proven tool of Physics, has
confirmed the Age of Earth at between 4.5 and 4.6 billion years
and that Natural Law affirms change as at the essence of our
material world; change in climate has been the norm since Genesis.
In absolute contrast, global warming is unsupported hysteria from
assorted jackasses seeking political advantage and attention.

From the pic, it appears to be on a glacier, so I'd just tow it further North and make it last a millennium.

At least once every few years some idiot will get too close to a glacier in Alaska.

This happened in 1987 at Exit Glacier just outside of Seward, Alaska:  Woman hit by glacier dies (https://www.upi.com/Archives/1987/06/19/Woman-hit-by-glacier-dies/3650551073600/).  In the mid-1990s another idiot walked right up to the face of Exit Glacier (it is a landlocked glacier) and had several hundred tons of ice calve on him.  After the glacier receded further they were eventually able to dig him out.

Exit Glacier just so happens to be the same glacier Obama visited when he made his trip to Alaska.  It was truly unfortunate the Secret Service kept him from getting too close.

Of course it won't melt and Trump will permanently etched in the arctic. Libs are idiots.

Weelll i have to respectfully disagree. To be fair tho carbon dating is based on a few assumptions and there is in fact no absolute proof in millions of years. This being yet another lie in the sciene of the athiest left, right along with climate change, 76 genders, and fetuses not being human. Instead we know from the prophecy in the bible that it is the word of an omnicent, future-knowing God, who says the age is considerably less than millions of years. If he is also a perfectly good God as he claims to be then he would not lie to us about that.

But i know that has nothing to do with the point you are making. Srry i just had to point that out.

Fair enough Hunt; as we own our opinions.
But permit a strong demurral, based on an explanation given me by a
relative who is a Prof. of Organic Chemistry @ U of Penn, now retired.
No Mathematics, simply English.
* All matter in nature (rocks, fossils etc.) is comprised of distinct and
identifiable elements; each of which are subject to decay/extinction over time.
* As any element within matter decays, a quantifiable attribute, the matter
changes/ages and this can be measured for each element.
* Since any timeline can be measured forward; intuitively it can be reversed.
In summary, this Prof insisted that Radiometric Dating has been both sound
and verifiable Science for more than a century (unlike those lefty faves;
the Theories of Evolution and Relativity).
Giving the Bible its deserved due, it does not specify a timeline for Earth,
nor does it presume to be an authority on this matter.
So let me suggest Christ's admonition is appropriate here.
"Render to the Almighty what is his (spiritual) and to Caesar what is his (material)".

In the words of Cardinal Cesare Baronio, when referring to the works of Copernicus and Galileo, "The Bible teaches us how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go."

Thank you for the rational response, many simply dismiss this topic out of hand. However, i realize that biblical accuracy isnt the topic of this post, so instead of bugging  walks to move it later i will just create a new thread under Science and tech and reply to you there...

It will be funny if it does bury the artists somehow.  Just like that big production they made of releasing some little animal back to the wild, that they had cared for.  Friggin' hawk swoops down and snatches it up right after they let go of it.

This will be just the next piece of stupid after safe spaces, puppies and crayons, screaming at the sky, smashing and burning everything.

Believe it or not, a few libs have started speaking up, saying "maybe we should slow down with some of this".  I think they feel the election coming, and it's not a promising feeling.  Even Kimmel and Baldwin have said "maybe we've done too much Trump".

Trump's sculpture carved and completed, the camera catches a single polar bear adrift on a single piece of ice below the sculpted iceberg, as the camera pans out, you see a herd of polar bear slaughtering sea lions by the hundreds, Orca snatching birds off the waves.
Now there's a Meme.

Simply making the sculpture a destination for Trump fans, and a renowned / respected icon, would quickly make the libdemprogs spastically tear it down.

Just bide our time until it's done, then plop that on 'em.  Then laugh laugh laugh, another Trump win.

Have you seen the latest model? Runs on 5G, and can now carry up to a Blivet in shit with sharpened tips. Yes, they are now autonomous units that can actually target drum circles, hippy's, stoners and anyone wearing a pussy cap.
They're working on the Maddow model, where it targets any Pajama boy leftist in a media unisex suit.

As a descendant of Finns and Sa'ami peoples, I find this rather hilarious. My dear, departed Dad who was 1/2 of each, would have looked askance and wondered what they were thinking...
His demeanor would not have changed, but his thought would have been one of disbelief. Most Finns are quite taciturn and have common sense...

Things have changed, apparently, in Finland since my ancestors came to the US in the 1860s.
I predict an outcome that was not planned for.

This just made me think that somebody really should carve a new rock wall on some private property and name it Mt. Flushmore ................ Obama, Hill & Bill Clinton, Carter.

Big toilet on top with these 4 idiots cascading out the bottom of it.
