Trump Pisses Off China. ON PURPOSE!!!
« on: June 29, 2017, 06:42:50 PM »
Here's my interpretation. Trump warned China, pull your NK Chihuahua back in the yard or else!
China played dumb, said they have no control over the midget dictator, Trump said last chance, rein his ass in or you're going to regret screwing with the US.
This is Trumps second shot, third will be more painful than the first two combined.

The Trump administration approved its first arms sales to Taiwan, in a deal worth about US$1.4 billion that is expected to infuriate Beijing one week ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

China responded to the bill with anger. “We are strongly concerned about and firmly opposed to the bill approved by the Senate Armed Services Committee,” said Lu Kang, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman on Wednesday.
“The Taiwan question bears on China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and belongs to China’s domestic affairs,” Lu said. “We urge the US to honour its commitment on the Taiwan question, immediately stop military contact and arms sales to Taiwan, and avoid causing damage to the bilateral relationship and bilateral cooperation in a broader range of areas.”
Expedite Taiwan arms sales, US House committee urges Trump administration

China’s Defence Ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Wu Qian also stated on Wednesday: “We are always firmly opposed to any form of official contact and military interaction between Taiwan and the US.
“We urge the American side to abide by its commitment to the Chinese side with regard to the Taiwan issue, and stop military contacts with Taiwan, so as not to cause damage to the relations between the two militaries and the two countries as well as to the peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait,” Wu Qian said in a press briefing.

  Kinda gettin' to like Trump - after 8 years of anti-Americanism, everything Trump does looks like a home-run.

The guy definitely understands how to leverage negotiations to our advantage.   I was wondering if this administration would turn into a good-ole-boy get-rich-thing, screw-the-people.   Sorta based that on the Liberal notion the rich only want to get richer, screw everyone else, including our nation & national security.  Trump isn't doing that, big relief, nor is he lining his pockets with cash - either he's got enough money, doesn't care... or... he really does love this country and is sick of living among a depressed & half-beaten populace.
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...

That's exactly what I was thinking.  The funny thing is China has been doing some stuff, like turning around those coal ships and cutting off their fuel, WHILE we laid down some more sanctions on NK today, and he's STILL keeping the fire under China's ass lit.

Hussein in a million years could never pull this off.

This could be a card in Trump's deck to get China's attention about NK.

Looks like Trump's team is more than willing to up the ante on the deal.

China’s campaign to undermine support for Taiwan continues apace, as Beijing leverages its influence in the North Korean nuclear issue to curb US support for Taiwan’s arms sales, said Rupert Hammond-Chambers, president of the US-Taiwan Business Council, during the House hearing.

Chambers recommended that Trump invite Taiwan to participate as a partner in the procurement process for the F-35 stealth fighter programme, while simultaneously integrating Taiwan industry into the fighter’s supply chain.
US President Donald Trump is reportedly crafting a big new arms package this year for Taiwan that could include advanced rocket systems and anti-ship missiles.
Dan Blumenthal, director of Asian studies at American Enterprise Institute, also called on the US Congress to “frame its legislative agenda” for Taiwan in ways that advantage the US’ strategic competition with China.
“The Taiwan defence budget would skyrocket if we put on offer the submarines, or the manned or unmanned aircrafts that Taiwan asks for,” Blumenthal told the hearing.

Lived in China for many years and I must say certainly understand this move from President Trump and think it's not a bad move at all.  NK is out of control and China has not been pulling its weight in calming the situation.  I would like to mention, Chinese people are not happy about the NK situation.  They say 小弟弟不乖 little brother not behaving.  Haha.  This new guy is crazy and just not listening to anyone including China.  China does need to get tougher on them and I hope they will.  Just going a little slow.

Ultimately, do you think we will go to war with NK?  I don't think so personally.  Too much collateral damage at stake (South Korea).

I'm with you, there is no need for war with NK, it's like fighting a flea with a flame thrower, the country is no bigger than a flea on a dogs nose, but takes advantage of its geographic location of a nose attached to China, the jaws of the dog and the US runs the risk of being bitten if we swat the nose.
In other words, China continues to use NK as it's backyard dog on it's border while claiming "It's not our dog."

Yeah, the entire world knows what NK is to China, and Trump is calling their bluff, despite the protestation from the likes of Boeing and other corporations doing long term business with China, Trump is going ahead with the arms sale and unless China cuts this shit out, I expect to see 20 billion in sales to follow and moves to undermine China' in Africa and Asian states where they want to expand their Belt and Road operations abroad.

This is a fascinating look at what China plans for the future of the world, kind of a NAFTA on steroids. The people of China see it for what it is, a loss of manufacturing domestically, shipping millions of jobs/technology to poor countries, or entire Continents like Africa in their goal of global domination.

Here's one for reference, I haven't read it, just did a quick search for a link, so anyone interested in China' global view and plans and what Trump might do next, this might give more insight.

Yes, war would not be in anyone's best interest.  Especially for NK and China with it being right in their backyard and Taiwan, South Korea, Japan might even suffer the most.  Again to me it's that collateral damage factor.  If NK was not holding Seoul at gun point and did not have the ability to level the entire city in 45 seconds, then we might have already moved in on them.

Good note on one belt one road.  I previously did some research but not too much.  Did a little bit more and found the following article regarding how China benefits. Really really interesting.  I see a triple benefit for China.  1 china owns the banks and benefits on loan interest taken by the countries needing the money.  2 china will give priority to Chinese contractors (most likely state owned like everything else) for the construction projects (some American contractors are already pledging their support though).  3 any other political or economic trading benefits in favor of China as a result of the agreement.  They roll out to a few countries, get a successful model, then roll out to the next.  In a way, I have seen it firsthand in China.  The rate which they put up mega shopping centers is crazy fast and they fill up quickly with people too.  It would seem they are trying to expand with this approach outside of the mainland.

Yeah, the Establishment here will sell us out in a heartbeat and China is counting on it, however this is not sitting well domestically, the Chinese people despise the idea, they know how communists work, and killing off a few Chinese cities for a a few billion dollars abroad is fine as far as China is concerned and as long as it benefits the communists party.
If we don't wake up, Russia will be forced to ally with us or lose what little trade power they control, China will beat the pants off both of us because they are willing to take a loss for more power and trade control worldwide.
Enemies/Allies depends on mutual enemies, this is not how I want to ally with Russia, I'd prefer it to be mutual agreed trade, but if we get to the point we align against China, I fear we would be hanging onto what little influence we carry abroad.

People here in the US may not see it, but I think you get it, China wants global control, using the Fabian approach of total domination by Nationalist control and China calling all the shots.

China wants to overtake US as the number 1 influential power.  That's for sure 100%.  It will be up to us to prevent that.  Competition is good for all.  Quite frankly they have a long way to go before they can challenge the US in my opinion.  They still are a developing country and they are shooting themselves in the foot with censorship, poor copyright laws, and pollution.  Chinese are still immigrating to the US because it's the favorable destination.  Top to bottom.  It will be quite some time before that trend is reversed.

Regarding the comment that Chinese people despise the one belt one road idea, I have personally seen mostly a positive reception.  My question is - what are we doing to combat the OBOR initiative?  One thing China does well for better or worse is they move really fast if a buck can be made.  They can ignore public opinion, group opinion, international opinion, and just go do it.  There are no state and federal committees  for endless debate.

After a quick search, perhaps US can launch something similar in the Americas?

We don't necessarily want that.  It's all fun and games when a president can bypass Congress -- until the other party is in power.  For something to be permanent, it needs to be rooted in legislation.  Gridlock is good, and by design.
