The last thing America needs right now is another war. I would be far fetched to believe that these airstrikes will lead to a mass presence of ground troops, but again let's not overstep here. We are playing a dicey game with Russia that I only have to hope that Trump will help with. Let's not forget when Obama drew the line in the sand and did nothing to punish Assad when he did a similar string of Chemical/Barrel Bomb attacks in 2013. Trump is just doing the job that Obama never could.

Some opinions/observations:
* Russia is a world power in their own mind as well as an economic basket case.
* The Syrian strike was directed physically at Assad and mentally at Rocket Man.
* We have the makings of a winning coalition in the Middle East among
Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey.

Boo, an observation.
Mustapha Kemal revolutionized Turkey, then the leading Islamic power in
the world, by separating Mosque and State as well as secularizing the nation.
Since his era, the key to power in Turkey has always been the Army and I
question whether Erdogan, a Fidel Castro type, fully grasps this?
Our morass in the Middle East is attributable to Buffoon Bush and Hustler Obama;
yet we do have leverage.
Consider: the Emirate of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman , the Kingdom of Qatar
and the UAE; each w/rulers openly friendly to the USA, contain extensive Air and
Naval facilities built by the British long ago and regularly ungraded by our DoD.
Also, the French presence as our ally is a significant plus, as they enjoy a far more
favorable reputation than the British, in that region and previously controlled both
Lebanon and Syria till 1930.
Anyway, we shall see.
