Can someone provide me with the counter argument for this?  I'm not sure how he can continue to say this unless his supporters really don't care if what he's saying is true.  In so many of Trump's comments he blames China for our problems and their currency manipulation when it's not at all what has caused our economic problems.  If anything the manipulation they have done in the past has improved the standard of living of Americans by allowing us to run a larger current account deficit, keep our reserve currency status, and consume more goods.

America isn't in trouble because other countries are screwing us it's in trouble because our government is screwing us.

This is from July of last year, just before China devalued the yuan, so yes, Trump is correct, China does manipulate it's currency.
However, there's no reason he can't find another country to make his clothes, like say, the US?
If he stuck a made in the USA on his crap, people would still buy it if they like it, Hell, he might even increase sales.
Is Trump being a bit hypocritical? You bet.

Ok well he's been talking about it for so long I felt like I was missing something.  I understand they manipulate their currency but their exchange rate has increased by 26% 1995-2015 and 19% 2007-2014.  Just don't see how he can keep saying, and how people continue to believe, that the recent 2% devaluation is screwing us.

Americans are fickle, in one breath they scream and blame corporations for leaving he country, but go to their home and you don't find one American made product.
We're a cheap lot, we'd rather save $12.00 on a new toaster and bitch about how they don't make things the way they used to, than buy a quality unit that will last for years.

I learned long ago, you get what you pay for, so I always search for American made, pay a premium for quality, and if there isn't one to be found, I still buy only the best which is usually Japanese.

Or German!

The small appliance industry is the worst!  I kept buying irons made by American companies and finally gave up and bought Rowenta which is German made.  It is 100 times better than G.E. or Black and Decker!!!

But I look for that to change since the M.E. invasion of Germany.  Their quality will diminish also!
