I see taxed started a thread about Jeff Sessions being appointed AG. I am starting this thread in order to lump all comments about appointments into one thread since this is going to be an oncoming story.

The first three appointments of Sessions, Flynn and Pompeo are encouraging. My thoughts are confirmed by all the lbs who are in an uproar over these. Their problem is these guys are conservative, but they won't admit it. They are playing the "lack of diversity" card as the race card has not played well this election cycle. Let's enjoy the next few weeks.

If Romney is Sec of State, with Sessions and Flynn, then that's a pretty damn strong cabinet so far in my opinion.

Let's hope he sticks with conservatives.

Bolton as UN ambassador, at the very least. "Pay your damned bills!"

Why?
Why Romney in a position he has never worked in? He may be qualified to fill an ambassadorship but what qualifications does he have for SOS? Remember Trumps SOS will have to convince many south American countries to accept these criminal illegals back. Bolton could do it Romney doesn't even believe in the policy!

A very smart businessman never was SOS before, therefore he wouldn't be good at it?

I never disliked him.  He's a smart, good man with a ton of experience doing amazing things in the business world.  To say Mitt can't do something like be a great SOS is silly.  He looks nothing like John Kerry.

Tom Price for HHS?

I really like this, because Price started drifting RINO, so this gets him out of Congress and onto something productive.  He's a doctor, and has always wanted to kill the ACA scam.

"What goes around comes around."

President Trump's Cabinet picks are likely to be easily confirmed. That's because of Senate Democrats.

That's because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what's called the "nuclear option" allowing senators to approve by a simple majority all presidential appointments to the executive branch and the judiciary, with a big exception for Supreme Court justices.

Democrats took the controversial step because they were so frustrated by what they saw as Republican foot-dragging on President Obama's choices for his administration and federal judgeships. Under the new rules, it takes only a simple majority of senators to confirm such appointments instead of the 60 typically needed to force Senate action.

Let's not forget Harry Reid suggested going to the "nuclear option" for SC if democrats controlled the senate. If the dems try to block SC appointments McConnell should follow Reid's suggestion.
