"What goes around comes around."

President Trump's Cabinet picks are likely to be easily confirmed. That's because of Senate Democrats.

snip~
That's because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what's called the "nuclear option" allowing senators to approve by a simple majority all presidential appointments to the executive branch and the judiciary, with a big exception for Supreme Court justices.

Democrats took the controversial step because they were so frustrated by what they saw as Republican foot-dragging on President Obama's choices for his administration and federal judgeships. Under the new rules, it takes only a simple majority of senators to confirm such appointments instead of the 60 typically needed to force Senate action.

I'm all for it. We should use more of the Dems tactics to move our agenda.

Just like Repubs should repeal ACA with the same obscure rule the Dems rammed it through.

I say, libs made their bed, now let them lie in it.

Maybe next time they'll think twice before trying to pull a fast one.

Could be that TEA associations will have some serious work cut out in the coming months. Seeing a cabinet filled with strong conservatives is heartening, and the idea of Ted Cruz as a Supreme Court Justice is even better.  But if the Senate loses both Sessions and Cruz, (possibly others) then TEA associations in their home states need to be ready to propose and support acceptable candidates when it comes time to replace them.

A battle has been won, and we turned back the threat of the most anit-Constitutional presidential candidate in our history. But the war still rages. We need to remain proactive and vocal if we are to hold Trump's feet to the fire of his promises.

Hmm... for his promises??  If I remember right, merely suggestions.

Romney would be a big mistake! how about Ambassador Bolton? That would round out the team and really piss off the libs!!

I would not trust Mitt Romney at all!
He's totally tied in with the ruling clique
that runs the major corporations
and both R and D party establishments.

I strongly suspect that he deliberately
took a dive in 2012 to clear the way for Obama
by performing badly in the last debate
and refusing to go on talk shows.

I would MUCH rather see John Bolton as SoS.

Or better yet, how about Pat Buchanan?
Go Pat go!

Okay, so we get proactive in order to SUGGEST that he follow through on his suggestions.

I agree.  I am just saying we need to be proactive in assuring ol' Donny Boy remembers what he "suggested" for his administration to accomplish.

I am also "suggesting" that constitutional conservatives, such as those who belong to various TEA associations need to be proactive in assuring any seats that open in the Senate due to Trump appointments be filled with Constitutional oriented conservatives. We wait until the process is already under way, it may be too late to influence the outcome - especially for those states who refill vacancies by appointment rather than special election.

So far Trump is approaching his job like he did as a businessman. Qualifications and competence. I have no complaints so far. As far as Romney goes I always liked him but he looked like a douche this year when he went after Trump. He has the temperament to be Sec of State. He isn't as aggressive as Giuliani. The less war the better.
