Donald Trump warns China to reach a trade deal now, or face a 'far worse' one if I get re-elected

US President accuses China of playing for time in the hope he will lose to a 'very weak' Democrat in next year's election

The media and the rest of the Democrats are affecting our national security interests by continuing their hoax and teasing impeachment.  China had agreed to our terms and now have become hopeful that the Democrats may either drive Trump from office or defeat him in 2020 and they can return to business as usual with President Joe Biden.
I'm guessing by the time Trump is no longer president(after his second term), we will have increased our trade with other countries such as India and Mexico and China will rank lower on the trade scale. We don't need them.

I've heard this nonsense in several articles, but honestly, the Chinese aren't so stupid as to gamble on a 1000.000.00 to one long shot.
They are playing a game, but it has nothing to do with the Dims, they are playing the NK, Venezuelan card in hopes of getting Trump to concede on tariffs, they think if they can keep pressure in VZ then Trump will fold.
Chinese don't know Trump like we do.

I've been checking out this Michael Pillsbury guy.  He's an expert on China and an adviser to Trump on China, and has been making rounds on news.  He really knows China and understands Trump's approach... he's talking about this new approach with tariffs Trump is taking where China can earn it's way out of the tariffs.  He also acknowledges the tussle back and forth in China with the old school haws versus the reformers:

China has become an increasingly hostile actor.  They have been using capitalism and trade to fuel their economy, but they are still Godless Commies and trade relations with their foes is only a means to an end.  The end goal of Communists have always been one world communism; just as the end goal of Islamists is achieving a one world Caliphate under Sharia Law.  Tyrants throughout history seek to expand their empires and often buddy up with their rivals against their common foes.

QuoteBrazil, Mexico and Vietnam are among the countries that could make marginal gains in areas such as manufacturing and agriculture should US-China tensions continue after they flared up again this week, analysts have said.
The trade war between Washington and Beijing has already caused shifts in global trade, and will continue to create winners and losers as businesses try to cope with increased uncertainty.

QuoteA study by The Economist Intelligence Unit late last year suggested that many countries around Asia could reap the benefits of filling China's shoes in exports to the US. Malaysia and Vietnam were projected to be the biggest winners in IT equipment manufacturing, while Bangladesh, India and Vietnam were potentially able to enjoy a boost in exports of ready-made garments.

I don't see this as a trade war at all.
--------------------------------------------------
It's not a trade war, rather it is a fundamental clash of cultural values.
We are the offspring of Britain, one of the world's great Empires who
were molded by Imperial Rome lasting four centuries. As a consequence
we were formed by those attitudes, behaviors, impulses and sentiments.
China has no such heritage, being ruled by autocratic dynasties, later by
military dictators and now by communism; for some 4,000 years.
The creativity and initiative that are hallmarks of western civilization
never existed in China and never will, given their rejection of individualism
in favor of the mentality of the collective/communal.
That they cheat, lie and steal is their well developed character trait.
Anyone unaware of this reality truly needs to wise up.
Since Adam, various cultures/societies have appeared on the world stage,
among them: the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Egyptians, Greeks,
Carthaginians, Romans, Indians, Chinese; among many more. Some have
changed the world making an enduring name for themselves while most
have not. China is prominent among the latter.

The China stuff (and global economic realignment in general) has been a wake-up for me because I've naively believed it's been something pretty much all conservatives were in sync.  To see the squealing by RINOs and the degree of control China really has on DC has been unnerving.  It took a president who really attacked the problem to shake all this up and to expose the frauds.

All true Walter, and add one more, a belief that they are a superior race, or as we call them, Racists.
This failed belief system is dangerous in that being number two in the world slaps them in the face with reality and exposes this belief as a lie, something that actually angers much of the populace, but we can be assured if they were to ever takeover, they would be brutal tyrants for this belief.
It is shared throughout the Asian world, the Japanese proved their brutality as it conquered and enslaved people.

Trump has China rattled. Seriously, he holds all the cards and China is trying to meddle in world affairs with money as its weapon, yet Trump is playing the bankrupt card against China and China knows if it doesn't concede, it will suffer more than it has in the last century.
Then they'll be facing issue domestically, where the people demand change in leadership, of a guy that just appointed himself dictator for life.
I truly enjoy watching this, as history in the making. Soo much to take in.

I say openly to President Xi & all of my many friends in China that China will be hurt very badly if you don't make a deal because companies will be forced to leave China for other countries. Too expensive to buy in China. You had a great deal, almost completed, & you backed out!

..There will be nobody left in China to do business with. Very bad for China, very good for USA! But China has taken so advantage of the U.S. for so many years, that they are way ahead (Our Presidents did not do the job). Therefore, China should not retaliate-will only get worse!

....completely avoided if you by from a non-Tariffed Country, or you buy the product inside the USA (the best idea). That's Zero Tariffs. Many Tariffed companies will be leaving China for Vietnam and other such countries in Asia. That's why China wants to make a deal so badly!...

Their is no reason for the U.S. Consumer to pay the Tariffs, which take effect on China today. This has been proven recently when only 4 points were paid by the U.S., 21 points by China because China subsidizes product to such a large degree. Also, the Tariffs can be.....

China Retaliates...

China is raising tariffs on $60 billion of US goods starting June 1

China will raise tariffs on $60 billion in U.S. goods in retaliation for the U.S. decision to hike duties on Chinese goods, the Chinese Finance Ministry said Monday.

Beijing will increase tariffs on more than 5,000 products to as high as 25%. Duties on some other goods will increase to 20%. Those rates will rise from either 10% or 5% previously.

The move follows President Donald Trump's decision to raise duties on $200 billion in Chinese products to 25% from 10%. The world's two largest economies have struggled to sign a trade deal and end a widening conflict that threatens to damage the global economy.
