No.  But if we're not going to abide by them, either, then just get rid of them and quit bitching when others do things to our guys.  Let it be dog eat dog, no rules period.  And shut up about it.  Discard the Geneva Convention.  Go on record as saying its balls out and may the man with the most cojones prevail.
Why do people keep getting the Geneva Convention wrong? The Nations who have agreed to abide by it, have done so in the expectation that the other side will abide by it. It was never meant to unilaterally apply to one side. It's all about reciprocity. You treat my side and my civilians right, and I'll treat your side and your civilians right. That's why you are allowed to treat everyone who doesn't abide by the rules - illegal combatants - so severely. That's supposed to act as incentive. But it makes no sense for one side to abide by the rules, while the other side does as it pleases - with no down side.

Okay.  I'm moving on.  Good day to you.

I have asked this question over the years, merely as a method for some to take a cold hard look at themselves.
I'm always surprised at the answers, particularly from women, they can be brutal.

Scenario:You are in the desert, miles from civilization, your loved ones has just been kidnapped by two scumbags that plan on killing them, but you managed to drag one from the car as it drove out into the desert.
You have no cell phone and no time to go for help.

How far are you willing to go to save your loved one?

As deep as my little bag of tricks knows how to go...how's that? Then bury it to it's neck to wait for my return....

And if I don't return with my loved ones - you had better hope you're dead!  >:(

Yep, its a reality of life.
I know from personal experience what I am capable of, and it scares the Hell out of me.
But I also know, "dead men don't talk", no, I've never killed anyone, but I know how the law is about these things, and you better CYA.

With this enemy, the Marquis of Queensbury rules do not apply. To your reading list, I suggest "The Prince" by Machiavelli. Then go read "Mein Kampf", and some of Lenin's rantings. Know thine enemy. I have a copy of the Communist Manifesto, and the Koran, and have been able to completely destroy arguments by liberals who assumed I'm just another uneducated Neanderthal.

Make no mistake. When it comes to my beloved, any sense of "fair play" or "moral high ground" goes out the window. An example: I do not hit animals. I love my dogs, and my cat. My MIL's dog (a chihuahua) snapped at my 18 month old grandson's face today, drawing blood. That dog was across the room in about 2 seconds flat, and that's with my crippled hands. Never underestimate the power of love.
Be the kind of woman who, when your feet hit the floor in the morning, the Devil says "Oh crap, she's up".

If the mutt breaks skin, the mutt's neck gets broken BEFORE that toss across the room. Done. Finito.

MM, your MIL is lucky you didnt kill her dog.

I'm a dog and cat lover, but that dog went too far! I'm with Quiller on this one.

Talk to him in terms that make sense, a trade off, his life for those of mine....simple, I'm gonna need him alive....but alive an unharmed? Not necessarily.
