I'll cut to the chase...

You were Right all along...

You were Right, he is the best thing since the wheel. This is not a joke, I, and many of my ilk, around 30%+ of the base now support Trump wholeheartedly!

Think about that, we didn't even vote for Trump, although, we would fight to vote for him now, yet the LSM would have us believe he is still in negative approval. Can you imagine how the vote would have gone if we had actually voted for him?
Point is, we are many and we'll be voting for his reelection in 2020, keep that in mind as you read on.

Yes, and we're fuckin tickled as Hell we were wrong and you were Right. In part, we weren't wrong on Cruz, no, we were sick and tired of Marxists running for office with an (R), we had fought a litany of leftists, from Kasich, Rubio to Jeb and his leftists family and their friends like the traitor McStain, we were certain Cruz would win, how could he lose?
But ya know what?

Ditto. Many of us were looking for a conservative and Cruz filled the bill. Trump was not and is not a true conservative. However, I don't think he thinks in terms of conservative or liberal. I see him as a patriot that desires for America to be great again. Fortunately to get there he has to govern as a conservative and that is why many of us have changed our opinions of him.

Absolutely agree. Which has also defined his leanings as a patriot, he has yet to make a leftist move that would make the base question him.
It would appear he has a solid grasp, or in the least, a mentor/adviser on the team that keeps him in line with our Founding ideals, anyway, his actions show it, while his rhetoric drives many of his base crazy.
That was the part of his base I did not like, the frothing mouth breathers that were ready to come to blows, these people are still over the top crazy, and are still ready to fight if Trump breaks his promises, which is fine but they really need to understand what Trump does vs what he say's are two completely different things.

Shoulda listened to me from the start !  tsk tsk tsk........

And I liked Cruz more too, in the beginning.  But Cruz wasn't the right guy for right now.  He's more political than Trump, which wouldn't have helped in the big brawl with the swamp.

He also probably would have been more susceptible to the endless grind of the MSM, dems, RINO's, twitter twats, facebook fools, and so on.  Trump's the one in a billion who loves this kind of grinding fight.  It probably energizes him, lol.

When Trump says something that sounds liberal, and all his haters squeal "hawhawhawhaw".......... you know he's just setting them up for something.

Problem is, no one knew this but Trump's inner circle, even McConnel helped remove Cruz from the running because the Establishment feared a Cruz Presidency far more than that of a Former Dim.
Nah, you were no more privy to information than anyone else, you, like everyone else had the same information on Trump as the rest of us, you ran solely on faith that he wouldn't turn left once elected.
I'm just glad the gamble paid off.

That saying "action speaks louder than words" speaks volumes for President Trump. The problem with the every day Trump haters or never Trumpers is that they are so is caught up with what comes out of his mouth while overlooking what he has done. Although; I do love the fight Trump brings the media via twitter I support him on what he has done, his policies.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

Good point about the criticizers talking about what he says and not what he does. The reason is they can't criticize his actions because they are working.

Yes. Trump is literally the opposite of the GOP. The gop'E tells us they're working hard, promise to follow the conservative cause they campaigned on, then sign the biggest debt increase in the history of the US, fight to keep the borders open, compromise on everything the left demands.
Trump, on the other hand, feeds the leftists with "Maybes", gets them to come to the table and exposes them for the frauds they truly are.
All the while the leftist GOP leadership is scared to death of Trump because they know quite well he'll play them just like he's done with the Dims.

Noticed how low McCon has been lying nearly all of Trump's first term? Trump has the Con scared shitless.
I wonder how many times he's wished he'd let Cruz win?

Trump was simply the 3rd party guy that everybody supposedly always wanted.  He ran as a repub because he's smart, he has a business sense that would tell him that the other parties / labels are worthless and an instant loss.  And he just happened to be a bit more GOP / conservative than dem / liberal.  And I think his inner conservative has kicked in since the election.

Trouble is, the people who always said this really didn't want it.  Dems don't want 3rd party if it's not communist, and GOP doesn't want it if it's not Rockefeller - Bush - Romney centric.

Plus neither wants anybody who won't kiss the asses of the elite at the top of either party.  Woooooops - Trump, lol.

I think you're Right. I think Trump actually thought he could work with the leftist McCON-nel, that now that the Dim party imploded, he figured the pressure was off the Con and he'd no longer have to cave to the left.
Trump quickly learned what we've known for decades, the GOP loves the Dim party platform and the Con showed Trump just what he was and Trump wants no part of a Deep State RINO.

This is another guy I started following on twitter recently, a staunch Sessions backer and poster on CTH.    Wasn't till this post that I found out his Trump story is a mirror of mine (some of you)...stayed a never Trumper through the general election and had a gradual epiphany after he won...

Figure it fit in this thread

Do us a favor, post what you consider the relevant part of the article as well as the link.
Most of us haven't the time to read entire threads. If we find it to be a good read, then great, but a lot of people won't click blind links, no matter where they lead.

No Prob.... The following quote basically sums it up for me.  Saying basically that Stone, Bannon = (D bags), Believed the Evan Mcmuffin charade and voted for him, then pleasantly surprised with his appointments and leadership thus far....

QuoteYou know 2 of the biggest reasons I was Never Trump during the 2016 GOP primaries despite being desperate to avoid a Hillary Clinton presidency?

1. Stephen Bannon
2. Roger Stone.
With advisors like THAT, [Stone actually talked Trump into going on Alex Jones' InfoWars program] I figured any Trump presidency would be an unending shitshow from A to Z.
Once he actually won the election, Trump surprised me by assembling a great team around himself.

He quickly distanced himself from Roger Stone, which was a very positive development. And then Bannon self destructed as well and exited the White House.
I was rabidly Never Trump during the primaries. Those of you who followed me back then are very aware of that. Once he secured the nomination, I still couldn't bring myself to vote for him. Which is why I will always have to cop to voting for...Evan McMuffin.
However Trump absolutely shocked me once he actually assumed office & filled his cabinet and let his people get to work. I discovered that around 90% of my fears about a Trump The Stupid Impulsive Jerk Presidency were completely unfounded.

I guess I never got down into the weeds in all of this.

I originally wanted Cruz because he was by far the best conservative in the field, with great experience in leadership and govt.  And actually the smartest guy in the room, 99% of the time.  I voted Cruz in the primary.

When Trump was pulling away, I was OK with it since he probably had the best shot at Hillary, and I saw where he was actually going to apply common sense business practices if he got the chance.

And as I said, he's far better than Cruz to handle this civil war with the dems-media-Hollywood-RINO's.  Cruz's time will come after the war is won.

So that's it really, it's that simple for me.

I don't care much what he does with staff.  He's had some great ones and some misfires.  There are still a bunch of great people out there who want to work for him - Bolton, Kudlow, Giuliani, Mike Huckabee.  Staffing will be fine as we go.
