Title: Time for Conservatives to Get Back in the Fight
Post by: Bronx on November 22, 2012, 02:19:12 PM
I agree with this writer. We gave the GOP their chance and they blew it. Now lets put up our dukes and get back in this fight.

There is no doubt a lot of disappointment around dinner tables this Thanksgiving. The groundswell of conservative opposition to Obama and the Democrats, after delivering a landslide GOP victory, seemed to crash on the rocks as Obama was reelected. The DC GOP establishment, after squandering almost every advantage, has renewed its long-standing effort to minimize conservatives' influence on the party. The long fight to reclaim our country's promise has just begun.

I honestly don't know if the GOP can be fixed at this point.

It may be time to start working on a viable conservative third party.  It won't be easy and it won't be quick.

I had such high hopes for the GOP after the landslide victories on 2010.

The GOP Establishment won't fund the "Tea Party" types.  It's no secret they want them out of the party.  If you want the Repub establishment to get the message, don't fund them. Donate to a Conservative candidate directly.

That is exactly what I do.  I don't fund the party.  I fund candidates that I like.

I have told the GOP in no uncertain terms to take me off of their calling and mailing lists.

Doug Urbanski, who was filling in for Rush today, suggested that any Conservative running for office needs to get a copy of "Rules for Radical" and read it, study it and learn from it. He pointed out  that one of Romney's problems was he was too "gentlemanly" to his opponent. He also echoed my opinion that if Romney had gone after Obama the way he went after Newt in the Primaries, we most probably would be toasting a Romney victory right now!

In short, he was saying (my opinion) that Mr Romney brought a chess set to a knife fight!

He also pointed out something I've been complaining about since Romney sewed up the nomination. How do you expect to win an election by nominating a candidate who lost the Primary to the candidate who lost to Obama the last time around?

Look who the Republican Establishment trotted out for us to vote on this year! The same sorry faces we've seen before! The same losers we've seen since Clinton was in office!

Newt - Brilliant man, but a Loser!
Santorum - A social issues suck up who couldn't even hold onto his own Senate seat!
Cain - Who?
Romney - The man who lost to the man who lost to Obama last time around!

Ron Paul - a good man with good ideas but 1) too old, and 2) the Republican Establishment really didn't want him in the race and were determined to make sure there would be no way he would get the nomination.
