Yes.... but were you on a security detail?  In DC the LEO orgs are supposed to watch the crowd, not the principal during a VIP movement coz the crowd is the potential threat....it the same for a parade when 'Old glory' passes by, you watch the crowd, the ranking officer, usually a Captain turns & salutes.
