QuoteThanks to President Trump and his 4-point economic plan of tax cuts, regulatory reform, energy independence, and trade reform, we went from "you didn't build that" to "you're going to need to buy more equipment" in a short period of time.  The first phase of the Trump administration was about recovering from the Obama depression.  We've experienced growth, but nothing like what's coming.

This week has been incredible for trade.  The phase-one deal with China is great, but it's really formalizing how China can be punished, and for what they'll be punished.  There's large agriculture play, access for other products and services like energy and financial, but most importantly Xi's little Chinese nuts are in a vice and this agreement outlines how and when the vice would be turned.

The day after the phase-one China agreement, the Senate passed the USMCA.  This deal further ensures China is cut off from exploiting Canada and Mexico via the NAFTA back-door for the purpose of dumping products into the United States by enforcing a higher threshold for North American-made content.  The USMCA was a formal kill-shot to China's practice of using our neighbors to take advantage of the US.

This is probably the stupidest thing I've read in a while.

Why? You said we should expect an incredible growth period...

By what measure? What should we be looking at? Is it specific to a couple of sectors? Is it overall growth in GDP?

Joe, the fact you're saying what you said shows you are so clueless on this topic that I honestly can't even discuss it with you.  Maybe someone else has the patience, but I don't.  The fact you literally don't care about business is enough for me to disregard you from here on.

You're making it seem as  if I'm asking something that's not logical.

If you told me the Yankees were gonna have a great year, I'd ask how so? Finish above .500? Make it to the playoffs? is it World Series or bust?

You told me the economy is going to see incredible growth. How so?  Base on overall GDP? unemployment numbers? Soy bean sales?

Joe, if you don't understand how we'll increase exports and generate >$2T in trade, and slap on an extra point of GDP, and increase jobs... and you then ask me how growth will increase, then again, I don't have the patience to discuss.  You avoided my repeated request to define a living wage and you made it outright clear that you don't even care about small businesses.

I still haven't figure out if you're truly stupid, or if you're playing us.  Usually I have it dialed in by now....

Ok...so I gather from your statement that GDP will be above average, unemployment will continue to decrease, out trade deficit with China will go down.

That's all I wanted to know. Thanks for explaining.

Well, I assumed GDP. But I posted the GDP numbers and you dismissed it. I don't know all that's in USMCA. So I was looking for you to specify what areas you expected growth in due to this deal.

Joe, I can't communicate with someone who thinks you can raise wages on workers and think that's OK when the employees are laid off and businesses go under.  I can't interface with someone with that mentality.  I don't have that ability to go outside the bounds of common sense and economics.

That's a different topic.

I'm very pro business. You've got me pegged the wrong way.

PM me for further discussion as to not derail your thread on expected growth due to USMCA

Joe, you can't be for a government-mandated minimum wage and be pro-business.  I've been a business owner in several types of business since the Clinton administration.  All I can say is you don't care about business if you're jacking up their labor costs and putting people out of business.

You can post whatever you want, but again, I don't have the ability to discuss it with you.  I can only operate within the bounds of economics.  We can't really talk business until you understand that eliminating minimum wage laws will raise wages.  Once you get that, I'd love to converse with you.

I've actually never heard this before. Has that ever happened anywhere?

That's what I'm talking about. It's common sense and basic economics.  It seems foreign to you because you don't have a grasp on the basics.  I'd love for you to get there someday.

Here's a good animation if you're interested.
