I agree!  What became  The Tea Party Movement  started brewing under GEORGE BUSH, as Bush ignored his base and reached out to the likes of TED KENNEDY and embraced Democrat inititives including, but not limited to;

   1.  increasing the size and scope of the Federal Government and the Dept. of Education with THE
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT, which is a bureaucatic nightmare and abject failure.

   2.  climbing in bed and on board with the Democrats on their desire to end public housing as it had
previous existed by providing Federally Guarunteed Mortgages for people who could not afford
to buy homes, with the HOPE that somehow they would CHANGE if they experienced the pride
of home ownership.  They failed to realize what those who haven't received a boost from
having  been born with a silver spoon in their mouth, all know;  personal sacrifice to achieve
the American Dream puts skin in the game and leads to their disired outcome with can not be
        achieved by handouts!

   3.  George Bush climbed in bed with his Democrat collegues and created a new Medicare
Prescription Drug Benefit Plan which we could not afford and which expanded this "entitlement
program" even while Medicare is going bankrupt.

   4.  Congress authorized the spending of all the BUSH DEBT, but BUSH signed it into law!
Democrats and Republicans share the responsibility of this, as well as George W. Bush!

   5.  BUSH climbed right on board the Global Warming Scam along with the lefties, once again
ignoring his base and the facts refruting the liberal spin.

   6.  BUSH again ignored his base and planned to give amnesty to illegal aliens and failed to
enforce our southern borner and maintain our nation's soverignty!

Did I miss anything???

~And the Left Wing Spin Machine want to characterize the Tea Party Movement as being Republicans and then tie this to GEORGE BUSH, saying we all want to return to our past (citing the very things the Bush Adminiastration did, which infuriates conservatives!)

To paraphase Ronald Reagan..

" to say these people spend like drunken sailors, would be an insult to drunken  sailors! "
The press is our chief ideological weapon.

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

To me, one of the defining moments were all the fiscally conservative house Republicans who voted against the 2003 Medicare moderinization act. I think there were 55 or 60 conservative republicans who voted no. That forced Bush to enlist a ton of Democrats to get it passed.

But maybe the tipping point was when Bush wanted to push amnesty under the euphamism of comprehensive immigration reform and we had to make our voices heard in order to stop it.

Bush was a disappointment to conservatives on so many levels. He was tough on terror and I'll give him points for that, but he ran up irresponsible deficits, let the size of government grow and didn't keep a strong enough eye on the economy. All things that future Republican leadership must do if they don't want to be fired by their own base.  ;)
If you believe big government is the solution then you are a liberal. If you believe big government is the problem then you are a conservative.
