Any thoughts?  I don't particularly like Giuliani or Christie, but I do think they would serve well as the FBI director.  Definitely not Gowdy ... he has proven to be inept at investigating.

The replacements: Who will be the next FBI director?

....."Here are some of the names that have been floated around to replace James Comey as FBI director.

Rudy Giuliani  ..........

Chris Christie .......

Mike Rogers  .......

Andrew McCabe   ......

John Pistole  .......

Trey Gowdy   .......

Ray Kelly  .......

John Pistole--- Pence is his buddy and Appears to be well qualified

Personally I like Trey Gowdy and would probably put him #2 from your list

Definitely, Trey Gowdy, get his ass out of Congress and elect a real Conservative in his place. He's one of those scum bags that rode the TEA wave to get elected then instantly latched onto the Establishment, just like they planned.

He's a fine prosecutor, a lousy Congressman!

If Sessions does want to relook at Hillary and the Clinton Foundation Gowdy Knows were a lot of bones are buried. The Obama admin did a great job stonewalling the congressional investigations but with the support of the DOJ, the FBI and without the obstruction of the Dims on his committees Gowdy could have all the answers in pretty short order!

That so called obstruction could have been quashed in a heart beat by Congress, but the Establishment didn't want to.
We all know why, so don't expect shit from Gowdy if he is appointed, he's the perfect pit bull/lap dog of the Establishment.

Is he? or is he using them every bit as much as they try to use him!

Trump is in a no win situation here. Unless he appoints someone the democrats like they are going to throw a tantrum and try and block any and all legislation. So it's really on the shoulders of McConnell which is much like putting the community pool in the hands of a lifeguard who is afraid of water. So, go for broke, appoint the right guy and ram it down their throats.

What about Ray Kelly? I am inclined to believe Trump will go non political.

His hands are tied and he knows it. When they slapped him in the most public manner possible by telling him, you don't get to fulfill your main campaign promise of building a wall, he knew he had to do as he was told.
It didn't matter who won, even Cruz would have been dealing with their shit.
The Marxists in the GOP are in power. That's who the real enemy is, our very own party, so if Trump wants to accomplish anything, he needs their approval.

Trump's only real ally is the Freedom Caucus, if he were as smart as he claims, he'd go straight to the people and tell it like it is, tell Congress that he'll campaign against the establishment hacks in the GOP come Midterm. Oh wait, he already did that, problem is, it was against the Conservatives in the party, not the RINO.
So tell red, why did Trump attack the very people that got him elected?

The Senate didn't like Comey either, they were just foaming at the mouth hoping that he was close to uncovering something to indicate Trump colluding with Russia, but Trump will have a battle on his hands regardless of who he picks.  Can't he use the nuclear option on this?

It is a presidential appointment so Harry Reid's nuclear option is already in play.

Good.  Apparently there's now a 'short list' of 11 candidates.  I'm not familiar with most of them.  It would be nice to see Cronyn gone which means one less RINO in the Senate, but not so sure I want him directing the FBI.
