But this "first black" rhetoric tends to interpret African-American political successes — including that of President Obama — as part of a morality play that dramatizes "how far we have come." It obscures the fact that modern black Republicans have been more tokens than signs of progress.

I only read to the part where he called black republicans "tokens" and quit.

It's pure racism.

I am SO tired of having the left tie skin tone to virtually every aspect of life. :cursing:

They simply will not allow us all to be people...................ever.

Loss of minority votes will kill the left - and they know it. This accounts for their panicky reaction to any sign of the right making any possible inroads into the minority vote. Well, that and the fact that deep down they're a bunch of racists. Want to see the left go nuclear? Have the Republicans start pushing for school vouchers.

I can't think of anything more racist than this attitude from unsavory leftist elements that all black people ought to have the same political views, and that those who dare take conservative positions show themselves to be uncle toms, this is the most racial sentiment of all to me.

The policies of the left are especially injurious to blacks in my opinion. These policies keep poor blacks concentrated in cities down socioeconomically, they do nothing truly helpful for the dignity of people, sure food stamps will keep your stomach full, but such policies will not help you reach your full potential has a person. If the economy permits people of all races to increase their assets, and retain higher income they will naturally become more conservative, and all I see is the left trying to indoctrinate minorities into thinking that the promise of prosperity from the right is somehow insidiously racist compared to the "progressive, post-racial" dependency on government that leftists policies amount to at their inevitable end.

Believe it or not the majority of blacks live in the suburbs or rural areas. Just as the majority of the black population has shifted to the South. Not that you'd know it from the media, which always presents Northern, poor, inner city, (oh yeah, and overwhelmingly Democraptic) as the "average" black. "Makes me wanna holler, throw up both my hands".

Then they blame their plight on evil rich capitalist republicans. They have turned success into a dirty word. The political left are the worst type of hypocrites. Especially the wealthy left.

People don't realize it, but the inner city blacks are outnumbered by subsidized whites and hispanics................and they also vote democrat. They just don't live in government built housing.

They live in the outskirts of the cities, and stay in run down apartment buildings, houses, and trailer parks. There are millions of them, and big brother pays the bills.

Indeed. But the point is they are never presented as "average" (except for Hispanics) because it doesn't fit the media narrative.

It doesn't fit a lot of narratives...................including many from the "right". There are a hell of a lot more people on the government crack pipe than inner city blacks.

I communicate regularly with about 5 Black Conservative pastors who also are part of groups of Black Conservatives.

Prior to the  2008 election they had contacted the Republican Party for Support.

I am not going to go into all the details, but essentially Michael Steele and the Republican party gave them the finger! They didn't want anything to do with them because they were ""Conservative"".

My Opinion - You might as well say our Republican Party has tried to destroy Conservatives almost as aggressively as our Media / Press and the Democrat Party.  """Particularly >> Black Conservatives <<"""

Right now I have a list of about 30 Black Conservatives that I am going to try to unite in a fashion.

It's a little like the Tea Party. People don't realize it but there is about six major Tea Party faction and they each have a slightly different agenda.

The strength of our Society is the continuous recognition, respect and acknowledgment of the right of Freedom of Speech and necessity of high social and moral standards as well as loyalty to the absolute implementation of those principles set forth in our US constitution.
