The Obama legacy: An assault on the Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights is a barricade protecting Americans from their government. Part of President Obama's legacy will be that he inflicted damage on that barricade, eroding freedom of speech, free exercise of religion, the right to bear arms and the right to due process.

Through his political arguments, executive actions and political leadership, Obama has taken some of the holes punched by previous presidents and made them broader or more permanent.

This means that after Obama leaves office, people will be more easily silenced, killed or disarmed by their own government. Obama is leaving behind a public less protected from state power.

Ya know what's truly the saddest part in all of this? It was preventable via our Congressional Representatives, the very people we elect to protect our God given rights.

That's why I NEVER vote for D or R's at the fed level, and almost never at the local.

I live in a closed primary State, which gives me say in who moves up in the party.
It was open primary States that forced Trump on us, so you may want to reconsider your vote next time.

nope

Probably voted for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Write ins, you know.

So, let's see, you've tarred all conventional candidates calling them liars and thieves, yet you refuse to say who the honest upstanding candidates are. Do you know how shady that sounds?

nope

Quit throwing BS against the wall hoping some of it will stick. In reply#4 you said you didn't vote for anyone with a (d) or (r) behind their name. Then in the above post you just contradicted yourself. Your lucky you are still here.

So I'm now a brain-dead sucker?

You do realize Cruz, Lee and many other fine Conservatives have an (R) before their names, right?
My Congressman entered the game as a lowly candidate, had to use an (R) just to be seen on the ballot for a seat on the Assembly.
I read his bio, liked what he said so I voted for him, he soon ran as Senator, then for Governor against Arnold, later ran for Congress.
Point is, had I not been a registered Pub, I'd never had the privilege of supporting him as he rose through the ranks to become one of CR top (A) rated Reps. That Congressman is Tom McClintock.

Point being, we need to promote true Conservatives up through the ranks so we can steal the party from the leftists, and you can't help if you're part of the problem.

He is a perfect example of someone that was once a solid lib, got burned by the party, jumped ship to claim LIBertarian status, and never once understanding the difference in Pub and a True Conservative.
If he actually had solid principles to anchor with, he wouldn't be all over the map trying to cover for crap he said earlier.

If I would have voted for Cruz...which I would have...it would be because of his understanding and respect for the Constitution...The R would have been a drawback..In other words I would be voting for the Constitution not a man or party.

the suckers are the ones that only vote for the D or R and who the person is is irrelevant.
