This was a response to Dan, but I thought it worthy as a stand alone thread.

The Dims pushed for alternative energy, well fine, but they shot themselves in the foot, they have tied up the rare Earth minerals that are required in the manufacture of magnets in the wind turbines, the minerals that go into Solar panels, the batteries like Lithium Ion, another product that requires these minerals.

China produces 97% of these minerals.
Ours are locked up in mountain ranges and deserts across the Nation, areas that envirofreaks have made off limits, to mining, even foot traffic, all just to punish those that would dare cut down a tree for heat, or fish in the streams to feed their families.
And all this was done by the Leftists in power, that's right, all of them!

Nuclear is essential, but it has so damned much red tape, it takes forever to get one built.

Oil, Coal, Shale, these are abundant in our Country, and the left has all but tied them up.

For people to even think these morons have this Countries best interests in mind, is either a liar, or one of the stupidest and most gullible morons on the Planet.
Don't get me started on AGW, only an complete idiot would be unable to make the connection to the communist plot that is the environmental green movement.

In summary, alternatives are pure Bull Shit, they will never ever be feasible.
Oil, Hydro, nuclear Shale, Coal and Ng, are what drives the machine that is the most powerful and productive Nation in history.

We will soon have a choice, either continue down the path of suicide, or....

When all else fails, then try the obviously sane solution. Someone needs to share that little point with the left.  ;)

That was the reason for posting this.
I can't wait for some lib to try and defend the idiocy of their party.

In fact a very good example is the incandescent light bulb.
The left outlawed it, only to give us a highly toxic piece of crap, called the CFL, (compact fluorescent light) full of mercury.

But it gets even worse, GE was the main producer of this bulb here in the US.

Now that the plant is closed, nearly all CFL bulbs come from China.
And what happened to the employees of the GE plant? SOL!

Yeah, the left really has the best intentions for the people of this Country.

The simple explanation is that the left really HATES the United States. 

The left are embarrassed by our prosperity, our freedom, our innovation, our spirit, our power, our influence, our technology, our way of life, and everything else that defines what being a citizen of the United States is all about.

They have spent DECADES trying to "fix" something that wasn't broke.  Their singleminded goal is to reduce the United States to the level of the rest of the countries in the world.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, the left is succeeding.

I thought it was common knowledge that Nylon broke down in water. ;D

It's just like the paper industry back in the 80s, when these envirofreaks were whining about all the trees that were being cut down for grocery bags.
So what do they do? They cry for plastic bags, only to turn around and cry that we are using oil, the new enemy on the market.

Awhh yes, I remember the trees. I also recall a girl who sat in a tree, atop a 3/4 in piece of formaldehyde soaked plywood, driven into the tree with 16d nails, surrounded by 30 mill plastic. hauling her food and waste in plastic buckets at the end of nylon ropes up and down the tree all day. Meanwhile her support group was running back and forth to the market in their petroleum based transportation, while hoards of onlookers arrived in their petroleum based transportation. Now that had to be bad for the indigenous plant life in the area. Yes the Butterfly whats her name show was hilarious.

I wonder why they never thought of recycling some of the metal.Seeing as they are so concerned about renewable alternatives. It may end up doing more harm than good like many of their emotion driven ideas.
