A interesting read...

That's why civil rights icon and former ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young calls picture IDs on Social Security cards "an idea whose time has come." Young chairs Why Tuesday? a group co-founded in 2005 by William Wachtel, a lawyer whose father was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s lawyer, and Norman Ornstein, a political scientist at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. The group's goal, to boost turnout and expand the franchise, is embodied in its name. Census surveys repeatedly find that holding elections on Tuesday is the principal impediment to people voting.

The social security card was never meant to be a form of ID, old cards even said so.  Why the change of heart???

They are looking for an ID that almost everyone - especially adult voters - will have. The problems will arise when all these illegals attempt to use their illegally obtained social security numbers.

The dems thought of it first, so it's OK. Any other requirement for voting will be resisted because the dems didn't think of it first. The left are the biggest hypocrites ever created. They fight tooth and nail against photo ID's for voting when the right wants it because it's racist, yet when they think of using the SS card, it isn't.

Using their argument, how will the minorities that don't have transportation get their picture on the SS card?

I am of the opinion voter ID should be a state issue and each state should determine the requirements. I don't like the idea of pictures on SS cards as it is moving us closer to a national ID and I just don't trust the feds.

That is kind of the point.  SS cards were never intended to be used as ID's but slowly it has been allowed to turn into one.  The final push has apparently now started.

We are footprinted and fingerprinted at birth. Many hospitals also collect DNA samples. Our drivers licenses bear "swipe-card" technology which can be read at distances of greater than the distance of an automobile driver to the black box beside the road, tracking whoever drives by.

The cops have auto-read devices which can log license tag numbers and potentially track your vehicle through black-box technology that will be mandatory in future years --- including mandatory rear-view cameras. Some say that means Uncle Sugar is now competing with Google Street View...and it won't be good for lawful assemblies.

Privacy died on Obama's watch. The government that tracks people also denies travel to people: hence the "no fly" list people can NOT get explanations for even being listed on. The government that hacks your phone and internet communications seeks solely to control you.

If we are even allowed to have an election this November, vote no on incumbent.
