I've been hearing a lot about this woman recently. I just love how the democratic party is so divided amongst itself, that the chance of them getting anything done is slim to none. While this woman poses a serious concern to not only capitalism but democracy as a whole with her radical ideas, I'd find it hard to believe she will actually make a change for the party.

Cortez was raised in Yorktown Heights, Weschester County, NY.
one of the most seclusive/expensive areas in the Northeast.
She was schooled privately where she concentrated on Science.
Later she attended Boston University, on scholarship, earning
a BA in Economics. Good for her but she is no more a socialist
than Henry Ford was.

I think conservatives are also to blame for her new found celebrity because a lot of conservatives tend to reflexively punch back when the word socialism is mentioned which is fine because the left is so stupid they believe she will give them momentum. I see it the other way, I see this as a good thing, it forces the media to support her, furthering the divide within the party.
