President Sanders won the Democratic Party nomination by going far to the left and then, defying conventional wisdom, he moved even further to the left in the general election. Unable to retain the minority portion of the Obama coalition, many of whose leaders had been allied with Hillary Clinton and were still bitter over her loss and did little to help him, his victory relied heavily on youth voter turnout.

Voter turnout in America had been falling since the sixties. But in 2016, it fell below the 50% mark for the first time in history. When Bernie Sanders won a three-way election, only 43% of a weary nation came out to vote. And barely a fifth of the country voted for the first Socialist president.

The Sanders campaign had eschewed a slogan; instead it listed all the things that would be given away for free. Free health care, free college, free homes, free phones, free internet, free cars and free money for everyone. In the last week of the campaign, President Sanders had unveiled a guaranteed minimum income that would be paid to every individual in this country making Welfare-for-All into a reality.

The disappointment did not take long to arrive.

Much of the financial sector that Bernie Sanders had hoped to tax began vanishing as soon as the election results were in. New York's loss was London and Singapore's gain. A trillion dollars in investment capital left the United States creating a ripple effect that brought businesses to their knees.

All kidding aside, if that nightmare were to become reality, I'm thankful I have an EU passport and my family owns beachfront property in Spain, because I might have to go sit out Bernie Sanders there. Yeah, Spain is a socialist nightmare too, but a socialist nightmare in the Mediterranean seaside sounds less worse than a socialist nightmare in the United States.

Another reason we wouldn't want Rubio as the nominee.  We needs someone who knows how to debate.  Bernie would shred Rubio.

B.S./B.O. wants to "fundamentally transform America"
because that will hand over all power to his masters
in the ruling clique.

Bernie Sanders wants to fundamentally transform America
because he actually believes it will benefit the people!

B.S./B.O. agrees with his henchman Jonathan Gruber
about "taking advantage of the stupidity of the American voters."

Bernie Sanders actually HAS the same stupidity as the leftist voters!

What's even stranger are the reports of on-campus supporters who are dyeing their hair white. That's either to look like him or look old enough to understand him.

Since I don't travel outside of the U.S. anymore I no longer have a passport.

So even if I wanted too I can't simply run off from Sanderstopia.

Besides, I'd prefer beach front property in good ol' free market capitalist United States thank you very much.

Same here and I saw one yesterday and I do live in a retirement area. There are good many "flower children" who never grew out of it.
