Some of my liberal friends have come to the realization that they are more conservative than they thought.

A belief in our founding documents and conservatism is in no way inherently evil or stupid, and quite frankly, neither is liberalism, or certain factions of it.

I remember the runaway polluting of the late 60s and early 70s. I unwittingly took part in it. I worked for a ball bearing company in the tumbling room. We flushed all of our chemicals directly into a pristine river. I credit liberals for bringing attention to our destructive ways........................and things have been cleaned up because of it.

Both liberalism and conservatism can be carried to extremes. There's no denying it.

Maybe I'm more of a libertarian.............or something. I think that the democrats and republicans in Washington are on one team. I think that both of them work hard to keep the rest of us at each other's throats..............and it's working.

Obviously there are some trouble makers that pop up on here, but I also think that liberals, or anyone else that thinks they have a valid point to make, should be allowed to speak without being called stupid. Stupid will definitely come into play, but it shouldn't be an automatic, blanket statement about all liberals. It plays right into the hand of people that call conservates, angry haters.

One thing is for sure. If WE THE PEOPLE continue to allow the stuffed shirts in Washington to keep us separated and hating each other, they will win the game, and all of us will be following their rules. Republicans don't represent conservatives, and democrats don't represent liberals. All of us are pawns in chess game that is bigger than we can imagine.

America was founded on the idea that the pawns are in charge. That idea has been turned on it's head. It's about time we realize it, return to our founding principles, settle our differences as conservatives and liberals, (which aren't as big as we think), and place our government back in the hands of the people........................as it was intended.

If we are unable to accomplish that, we all become subjects of a centralized ruling state. I don't think that most conservatives or liberals really want that.

Edit: BTW- I'm as guilty as anyone for just wanting to lash out at libs. Deep down inside, I know it will lead to nothing.......or worse. I'm making an effort to think before I type. I have no problem beating some jerk to death, that deserves it. I also need to make sure that I am not playing the role of the jerk. It's an easy role to slip into.

I really have no idea what your point was.
If it was in defense of the troll, then you misunderstood my purpose for banning him.
His antics hurt our numbers in the big picture, it's those that stay on topic that help our forum where search engines are concerned.
He was notorious for derailing threads for two reasons, one, he didn't like the content, and the other was a way of deflection, when he knew he was caught or wrong, he'd point the other way and blame someone on the right.
All in attempt to deflect away from the fact he'd been caught in a lie.

Google looks at these threads for continuity and completeness, it's part of their algorithm, when they see an OP on one subject and posts on another subject, they throw it in the trash, but when they look at a forum and see consistency in all threads on any given subject, we gain incredible relevancy, which in turn pushes us higher on the sites they recommend.

In one sense his antics are good for internal traffic, but horrible where search engines generate external traffic.

I hope that clears it up.

I have no interest in defending trolls. My point was, anyone that thinks this fractured country is going to fixed by throwing dirt, is wrong. We are all guilty of getting pissed off and focusing on defeating our perceived enemy.

The lib trolls tend to get us pissed to the point that we attack anyone with an opposing view. I'm not passing judgement on anyone, but I think that staying in attack mode isn't necessarily healthy. It's merely an observation that I have noticed in my own life. I figured I'd share it.

I'm genuinely worried about our country. Conservatism is not a bad message at all. When put in context, it makes complete sense.

We are running out of time. This is a conservative site, and I'm here to help people to understand the logic behind the founding of our country, and why it has been the success that it has. Poking people in the eye with a stick isn't going to get us there. And I am as guilty as anyone.

We need to get control of our public schools back - it is the only way to defeat these Marxist Thugs.

We need to make Marxist and Socialist ideology as repugnant to the average American as Nazism is. That is why I think the Republican policy of not calling Obama a Marxist is wrong headed.

It's as stupid as not calling David Duke a White Supremacist!

Yes we do.  That's going to take a lot of constant parental involvement in the school system at the local level (school board elections etc.) and the elimination of the federal Department of Education.  Which is going to a hard nut indeed to crack.  Let's face it, too many parents no longer take the time to get involved with the education of their kids.  Many of them don't even know what's in the curriculum.  They use the public school system as a baby sitting system.

.

It is more accurate that way IMO.

I agree..........to an extent.

I think that attempting to prove that Obama and the democrats are corrupt, is a failed message. They are corrupt to the core, but nobody cares.

Speaking of messages, lets have a look.

Democrat:

You are a victim.
Nothing is your fault.
Sex with anyone is good.
We will pay to kill your mistake if you become pregnant.
Society must pay for your birth control. You are not smart enough to do it on your own.
Society will pay for your college degree. You are not smart enough to do it on your own.
Society will pay for your food. You are not smart enough to do it on your own.
Society will pay for your housing. You are not smart enough to do it on your own.
Society will buy you a phone. You are not smart enough to do it on your own.

The republican message isn't much different.

The evil conservative message:

Go for it.
Use the brain you were born with, put it to work, and earn as much money as you can.
Don't make stupid decisions. You will own them.
Enjoy your life, regardless of how little or how much you have.
Don't covet the things that other people have, and don't expect the government to provide those things to you. If you want them, go earn them.

This list is almost endless. The conservative message of, "Use your damned brain and stop waiting for everyone else to provide for you", is far superior. It really shouldn't be a hard sell.

The democrat message is, "Vote for us because you are weak and stupid, and we will take care of you."

80% of the time when arguing with a liberal, they will bring up Fox, in my experience. Some of the lovely things I have been called are "Fox Fiction F***** in the head moron", and  "Official Fox C***sucker", none of these people could tell me why Fox news is evil, give me an example of its lies and hatred, or respond to examples of sheer idiocy from Chris Matthews and the likes of him.

"I have to tell you, you know, it's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often. No, seriously. It's a dramatic event.:lol:
