I completely agree with this. Ted did the right thing. He isn't pulling a Kasich and wasting supporters money on a campaign that simply cannot win right now.

The hope is Trump gets a good staff around him and can unite the conservatives with him. I already like Carson. So him running something is a plus. Hopefully Rubio is his VP (Vegas has him as highest odds). Rubio is good except scares me on immigration and Trump is anti immigration so that is good. Then good some more good cabinet members and he will look appealing to some conservatives. He said his running mate won't be a politician. Which is wise by Trump. Get someone that can appeal to the congress since they will hate him.

Sorry don't agree with Rubio as being a good choice for obvious reasons but then again I'm never voting for Trump so the point is moot for me.

I won't pretend to be an expert. There may be better choices than Marco. This is the first real season I didn't just blindly vote GOP leader. Bare with me.

Yep...good so far

QuoteQuote 2 -The hope is Trump gets a good staff around him and can unite the conservatives with him.

Its documented he gets yes men and people who know less then him so he can dominate them.

QuoteQuote 3 - I already like Carson. So him running something is a plus.
See above, not to mention I have no repect for Carson after what I have seen since he endorsed Chester Chettah

QuoteQuote 4 -Hopefully Rubio is his VP (Vegas has him as highest odds). Rubio is good except scares me on immigration and Trump is anti immigration so that is good.
Given Trumps immigration policy is a rues, guess Rubio would be the strong opinion on immigration there..but then again see Quote #2 above

uhh...yea, quote 2 again......

Not sure what ya meant or what Chester said here but (is or isn't he getting a politition as a running mate?)....... again...see #2

......Guess we may all be seeing a lot of #2

I agree but I still don't get why he quit.  He had the money and the ground game so march on and let it all play out.  That's what he lead us all to believe he was going to do. Worst of all it's looks like a capitulation to Trump who is a complete moron, money or not.  But what is done is done.

This is why I think he suspended his campaign.  The way things were going I think it was very likely he would have won the second ballot, but Trump has successfully poisoned the well and that victory would be hollow because too many would be reciting the Lyin Ted stole the nomination mantra and we all know Cruz or Trump will not win without some kind of unity coming about.

So, my hopes and what I think could be going through Cruz's mind is that by stepping back Cruz could be giving Trump enough rope to hang himself before the convention. Trump now has the floor and there is no Lyin Ted to hide behind. Maybe some Trump supporters will now get a glimpse of the man behind the curtain.

Or I should say the narcisstic lunatic behind the curtain  :ttoung:

Sorry but one more thing that maybe one can explain.  Ted said this last night.

"From the beginning I've said that I would continue on as long as there was a viable path to victory," Cruz said, with his wife Heidi by his side. "Tonight I'm sorry to say it appears that path has been foreclosed."

Foreclosed?  That's an odd word to use there.
Ted is always very precise in his use of words.
I don't think I've ever seen him choose ANY word by accident.

Maybe he's saying that he's stepping down because
his large donors have decided his chances of winning
are too small for them to invest any more money.

Solar can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he had plenty of money to stay in to the end and try to get the nod at the convention.  As Solar posted yesterday, I hope Cruz is "up to something" else with his sudden departure.

Would we still love Cruz if he made a deal with Trump to withdraw and be named to the Supremes?

Very good question quiller.  I puke at the thought of making deals with Trump but short of winning the presidency, he'd be perfect on the SC.

Take the word in it's literal meaning.
Fore, meaning taking placed in front of. Closed, meaning no longer open. What was once open, is now cutoff or closed.
So lets look at it in it's literal meaning, and as you pointed out, Cruz makes no mistakes where his choice of words takes place, it becomes apparent, if the path opens up, he'll pursue reopening his campaign.

I'd like to see that, but the senate confirmation hearings would be a blood bath.

Hmm...  Some of them are getting old so that should be five paces so they don't miss.
