Teachers' Union Pres Gets $360,000 Salary, Blames Baltimore Riots On 'Inequality'

QuoteAmerican Federation of Teachers president and notable rich person Randi Weingarten has released a statement blaming "inequality, bias and racism."

Quote....We understand the frustration that mounts with each incident where an unarmed black or Latino man loses his future, and with the hopelessness that stems from poverty and joblessness. We condemn the inequality, bias and racism that spawn these cycles of violence,"....

Weingarten, who complains loudly and routinely about the salaries of American teachers, makes at least $360,000 per year.

This morning on "Happening Now", Tammy Bruce was a guest and she said that in Baltimore, where the riots took place, that their unemployment rate is 51% and that 60% of the adults have not graduated from high school.  I've already mentioned where the local high school there have very low grades and high absentee rates.  If the kids won't even avail themselves to the education that is available, how on earth are they going to be ready for the work force?  Why won't the communities address what is really wrong with what is happening?  The police are only dealing with the results of what the people themselves have allowed to happen.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Dori, I demand you pay more of your hard earned money to ensure an equality of outcomes.  Why should you have what you have when there are so many others who don't have anything near what you have.   You probably have more ability than those who are school drop outs and/or drug addicts, so you need to dig deeper into your pockets and come up with something more than lint.  Is it fair that you have what you have and these people have so little?   :ttoung:

" From each accourding to their ability and to each according to their need!"

Gee,and you wonder why so many poor black people are Marxists!  Look at who's teaching them...right up until the day they drop out of skool!   Who needs an education, if you're planning on going on public assistance all your life!  Getting an weducation and gettigna job and working hard is for chumps!  My teacher taught me that I'm entitled to everything I need (or want) and them chumps gotta pay for it; why should I wantta be a chump!
The press is our chief ideological weapon.

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

I doubt any single idea has done more damage in the schools than "one size fits all."
That is a pet idea of the NEA and the US Department of Education, central control,
weakened school boards, central standards and curriculum, we all know the drill.

A word of advice, kids. When you post YouTube videos, keep it simple. Just copy the URL in the browser's address bar while you're at the YouTube page, paste it at the proper location in your post (WITHOUT using any of the "Insert... " buttons), and remove the 's' from 'https' at the beginning of the URL. If you do that one little thing -- remove that 's' -- your videos will embed beautifully into the page, and you will be hailed far and wide as savvy CPFers. As examples, the two videos you linked to would look like this in your posts....

If you're confused, just hit the "Quote" button at the top of this post and look at the text links I used. (They are in the two lines above this sentence.) If you copy the URL from the YouTube page, then insert in your post, and edit out the 's' from 'https,' the site's interface will convert those URLs to look like that, and your videos will be embedded and playable from your post. It's, like, magic.

The 2014 Republican landslide knocked Randi Weingarten's war chest into a cocked garbage-truck.

Union leadership's budget has increased by 25 percent since Weingarten took office. The union's political spending jumped 33 percent between 2008 and 2013 and AFT has vowed to spend record amounts on the 2014 midterm elections.

Winners win.  Losers vow to.

The Baltimore education system is horrible. Totally corrupt. They along with the Democrat party have destroyed the young population in the city.

Right, the geek knocks down $360K, and I have no doubt another quarter of a million, minimum, expenses, you know, walking around money, and has the nerve to boast, "Baltimore's per pupil education costs are second only to New York's, some $15,500.   Gagging

America's political dialogue has been formed and formulated by "Das Kapital" and "The Communist Manifesto." Now, whose fault is that, really?

This is not to say there have not been citizens around who were aware, certainly the business and corporate sectors have known exactly what has been going on.  But the people whose work forms attitudes and values -- professors, teachers, artists, movie and TV people, newspapers, all those --
have been pushing out the left wing propaganda for some 75 years, now.

The reason  no professor will speak anything but negative about anti-communism? Peer pressure. He'd be drummed off the job. For years, the high school teachers were too concerned about the backlash to preach anti business, anti capitalist, socialist ideology. That was on account of local control. Since Clintons and Obama, they are off the leash. High schools are now hot beds of left wing ideology. People don't even realize it.  It has become ingrained.

QuoteOfficer requests to see knife as part of defense in Freddie Gray case

defense attorney for one of the six police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray is challenging prosecutors' claim that Gray was falsely arrested, and filed a motion Tuesday demanding to inspect the knife Gray carried..

The motion was the first legal move in defense of an officer involved in the April 12 arrest of Gray, who died a week later from spinal injuries suffered while in police custody.

As potential legal arguments for the six began to emerge, legal analysts debated the merit of the specific charges, as well as the strategies defense attorneys might pursue.
QuoteThe State baldly asserts that 'the knife was not a switchblade knife and is lawful under Maryland law,'" Zayon wrote in the motion filed in Baltimore District Court. "The State further suggests that the Defendant 'failed to establish probable cause for Mr. Gray's arrest, as no crime had been committed.'"

Zayon contests Mosby's claim that officers illegally arrested Gray, and he said an inspection of the knife will show it was illegal.

State law says a person may not "display" a "switchblade" or a "knife or a penknife having a blade that opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in the handle of the knife."

Baltimore City code says a person can't carry or possess any knife "with an automatic spring or other device for opening and/or closing the blade, commonly known as a switch-blade knife."

A Baltimore police task force, commissioned to investigate Gray's death, analyzed the knife and determined that it was "spring assisted" and in violation of the city's law

If this is true it was a legal arrest and half of the charges go out the window! Is the prosecutor really that dumb?

Hey, how do you know my tongue is 'old?'  :tounge:

I've found that it's easy for folks to overcomplicate what they're trying to do on the board. Most of the time, doing what you aim to do is easier than you think. For the record, I think you're a sterling CPFer. (Is that what they call 'faint praise?' Like saying, "Hey, you're a really good ditch digger!")

And, Obama blames policies and attitudes of the white man.   Anything but the truth, which is that Africans have been the useful idiot of leftist subversives since the 1850's. That all been documented by historians, though most have put it between the lines. Clever, aggressive, often violent "progressives" boldly planted themselves and their agenda on American soil at the dawn of The Gilded Age, built powerful political organizations in defiance of the rights of man, and by the late 1930's, by subversion, boldness, and guile,  were well on their ways to appropriating the wealth of the nation, returning little or nothing in the way of national benefit in exchange.

Even today, sincere vocal and conservatives such as talk radio's David Webb feel compelled to justify the American conscience by reciting, as he did this week,  details of the billions of taxpayer "assistance" to corrupted cities such as Baltimore and New York as "evidence" of our good intentions towards the black people. Anything but the truth. The truth is that the communist masters will never permit that population to exist in peaceful neighborhoods and communities. Far greater to the "progressive" advantage  to allow the steady drain of money and morale as a key component of the ultimate communist goal.
