Tea party groups get revenge against IRS as judge approves $3.5 million payout

snip~
A judge late Wednesday signed off on the settlement between the IRS and hundreds of tea party groups, closing out the last major legal battle over what all sides now agree was unwarranted and illegal targeting for political purposes.

The IRS agreed to pay $3.5 million to groups that were wronged by the intrusive inspections, and insists it's made changes so that political targeting can't occur in the future.

Remember this is not the IRS's 35 million$$$$$ it's taxpayers money.  The IRS (government does not make money it uses taxpayers money for everything)

What about accountability from those who were in charge at the time?
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

Yeah, like firing all involved and then some, so as to pay for this out of their budget and never allow them to refill these positions again.

How is this even a punishment? How does this discourage future attempts?

A lesson in how the government works. They abuse their positions and use our money to pay for their acts while keeping their positions. Pitiful isn't it?

PRISON is Punishment.

This is just someone else's money being spent.

Well, a good start nonetheless.

More taxpayers money being spent.  No accountability like always.

In truth it isn't punishment. The IRS like any other government agency should be gutted or abolished if it becomes weaponized. The IRS and the EPA are the worst.

Exactly and this: "Side note...

...is why those who are responsible must be held responsible. There's no such animal as 'the government', is there? The government is "run" by human beings and those creatures should answer for their idiocy.

Yes and not just a slap on the wrist.  It should be something that will make the next person think twice before doing.  If it a upper government person they should lose everything along with their voter rights.
