Actually the term assault weapon dates back to WWI, but the left are so stupid of history, they applied it to the AR or it's "Ugly Gun" look alike. Yeah, they actually think AR stands for assault rifle.
Yes assault weapon was used for the small machine guns used by the Germans. The way that the term "assault rifle" is being used in modern terms is a BS made up term. Just like transgender and toxic masculinity to name just a couple. Another BS term is "gun crimes"and "gun violence". No gun in the history of firearms has ever committed a crime or caused violence. At some point this make believe garbage must stop and must be called out when it happens.

One more thing, any weapon that is used to assault someone is an assault weapon. Assault is a verb not a noun.

Please stop. You're wrong and obviously have zero experience on this subject..

You obviously flunked out of engineering school.

Bingo!!! Ir's pure PC Bull Shit! Just like "Hate Speech", there is no such thing, but the left keeps using it in hopes it becomes part of our vernacular.

I have built and repaired many firearms. How many have you done? Have you even shot a firearm? You should stop before you continue to embarrass yourself more.

You seem to like to go on these attacks but I am not intimated by your tactics.
Obviously, there are some differences between  a truck and a car but they are built the same way. They have the same mechanics. The same with guns.

From the aspect of mass shootings and the call for the assault weapons ban we are not talking about snipers and large distances. The Las Vegas shooter is probably the only recent shooting that needed a rifle. The shootings were in schools, churches ... and no one was wearing body armor.
What they are trying to ban is magazines that hold many rounds and the ability to fire rapidly. We are talking about less than 20 yards for these school shootings. You do not need a bullet that can hold a larger charge. They did not need a longer barrel.

So if you have something to add then please feel free to educate. Your attempted bullying bull shit just makes me laugh at how weak your argument must be. I am trying to restrain myself here from being more blunt.

And again you continue to embarrass yourself with your obvious ignorance of what you are talking about.  Your wrong and what's sad is you continue on proving how wrong you are. I was trying to be nice asking you to quit while you're ahead.  Please continue on. Whenever you spout BS I will call you on your BS. There are no  so called "assault weapons" on the market legally for purchase without specially required licenses. An AR15 or a semiautomatic AK47 is not an "assault rifle". All handguns are not the same and have different mechanics between them and are definitely different mechanically from rifles.  Go ahead and be more blunt.
If you knew what you were talking about you would also know that a bullet doesn't hold a charge.
Come and prove your ignorance some more. Spout your BS.

Let it go guys. What's important is that we're teaching our readership the truth, but we don't need to attack each other in the process, we're all on the same side.

Billy's bayonet

I really get mad and nervous when I hear idiots Kamala ad dumbo O'Rourke talking about "Assault weapons" and "Military style weapons" few if any of them have ever been in the military and have no idea what they are talking about ....they use words to scare people who don't know any better either.

Growing up in Western Pa and preparing for the hunting season, I saved up my money from mowing laws and weeding old Ladies gardens to buy a "assault weapon". Which were on sale at the local "army /navy surplus" store. I paid 11.99 plus tax on what was one hell of a assault weapon during the Spanish America war....a 30-40 Kraig bolt action rifle, it was big, heavy and even had a bayonet lug. Wrapped in jelly cosmoline and plastic found in some warehouse somewhere, This was about October of 1964 a few weeks before Kennedy was killed and everything was later to change regarding firearms. I bought it with cash at age 14, no paperwork needed, bought a box of bullets for it and got a deer tag for my Junior Hunting license. Kids my age always bought 22 bullets, shotgun shells or ammo for a "deer rifle" nobody batted a eye. The old clerk wrapped it in newspaper ad I got on the Bus headed for home, everyone knew what I had, nobody cared.

The point of this little trip down memory lane is what WAS a State of the ART 'assault weapon' in 1903 was an obsolete antique in 1964 and a collectors item in 2019.  I fear these clowns will try to ban ANYTHING the military used going back to 1860, because at one time it had a Military use, designed to kill as may enemy soldiers as quickly as possible on the battlefield.

Don't let them get a toe hold, don't let them Ban or restrict anything

Question. With the exception of the longer barrel and the shoulder stock (which are attachments to some pistols), not to mention cosmetics, and gas versus recoil operation, what is the difference between an AR-15 an a pistol?

Wow to argue the difference between clip and bullet.  Those of us who are older grew up using the word clip when talking about a magazine. Clearly there is a difference but a while back no one would not understand what I meant if I asked them to hand me, my clip.  And well being correct on bullet is once again a difference without a distinction.  I think your life would be more peaceful if you spent less time stressed out about others peoples words that still convey what they are saying.  I sense a huge inferiority complex where you feel good criticizing others comments.  But honestly you are not even doing that, you find a technical error and then criticize the person which is one sure way to insure that you are not really having a discussion.  So Killer Clouds I guess you find pleasure in getting others stirred up.  There is no value in that and only is a sign that nothing is being added to the discussion.  I think that "so called attack weapons" is a correct statement because many of these freedom takers call some guns attack weapons.  Mad up or not if a word is used and understood by a group it has its own meaning no matter if other like it or not.

hate to interrupt but that was me who posted the link showing the difference between a clip and a magazine, not killer clouds.  I put it up mostly tongue in cheek but also to show the difference. Well that's all I had to say please proceed.
