Dems' 'Obsession' With Trump Is Eroding Their Party

Though Turley is a Lib, I've always respected some of his insight, and this is one of those times because he's one of those the party left behind, he's the 60s Dim.

With a caveat, it wasn't Trump, this has been going on for years, Trump has become their focal point for all that's wrong with the party and a way for them to ignore the implosion within.

I'm glad the DNC doesn't listen to him, or if they do, there's no actual leadership/coalition strong enough to develop a unifying message, beyond "Hate".
Point is, until someone can wrestle the monkey with a machine gun to the ground, the party will continue to erode, and I'm fine with that.
Most of you remember, I predicted this was the future of the Dim party, and all the factions that once made it cohesive, now despise one another.

Dems' 'Obsession' With Trump Is Eroding What Defines Their Party

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley said Monday that Democrats' "obsession" with President Trump is eroding what used to define their party.

Trump has led Democrats to abandon their "core unifying values."

Trump is remaking the party in his inverse image,

Democrats' "all-consuming effort" with opposing Trump is becoming their identity.

Gorka: Dems Only Care About 'Power' & 'Taking Down' Trump, Not Protecting Americans

Trump said he wanted troops out of Syria and Afghanistan, Democrats, who have opposed continual wars, called the move "hasty."

What is left of the Democratic Party beyond being opposed to Donald Trump?

What could really screw us, and Trump, is if they found and listened to a real Blue Dog Dim. (if any still exist) I have a real fear of the Moderates and independents and where they might go. Trump has to double down on his agenda this year. The Wall is the big one even if he must use the military to build it. China Trade and North Korea Nukes are next. If he wins on all 3 he should be going into the election year unstoppable.

Nah, the party imploded, they moved too far left, so now the base demands they move even further left. Regardless of who they choose as the sacrificial lamb, Trump will sail through 2020 no problem.

It's only going to get worse now that the democrats have something they have not had in a while. Power. That and a base that demands they crucify Trump. It's going to be funny and frightening at the same time. Funny to watch Mad Maxine melt down and frightening because of the power she wields on the banking committee. If the economy holds and Trump continues to bring the troops home and fights for the wall he will be reelected.

Hmm...
Power??  They have no power unless they can get it passed in the Senate and Trump then passes a bill.  I don't see impeachment getting passed the Senate.

They have subpoena power and they can grind things to a halt. They have the power to go through every bit of Trump's life and they will. Regardless of guilt or innocence they have the power to make him look like a criminal. They will overreach and he will win in 2020.
