Blacks normally vote Democrat by a 95 to 5% margin,
so that's one community where the most gains are possible.
What would we call success?
Getting their voting for Democrats down to 90%? 80%? 70%?
One woman in the Dayton area made the Democrats LOSE in a BLACK neighborhood!
Here's how she did it:
In compliance with the law, she stood just over 100 feet from the polls.
(Ohio posts signs at every polling place showing exactly where that is.)
At first, she handed out Republican Party flyers.
People looked at her like she was promoting the Nazi Party.
So she put that away and passed out flyers from
Christian Coalition and Right to Life.
People willingly accepted that.
They went ahead and got in line and looked at the literature,
which listed the candidates' position on abortion.
They were alarmed at the fact that Democrats are all for abortion.
Apparently they were not aware of that.
The voters talked with one another while waiting in line.
Some of them even came back to the woman passing out the flyers
and got more from her to give to the other people in line!
At the end of the day, the Democrats LOST in that BLACK neighborhood!
So, instead of relying on individuals to repeat this woman's performance,
we should mail postcard flyers to every household in
zip codes with large numbers of Blacks and low income people.
The flyers should contain the same information as
what's in Christian Coalition and Right to Life flyers.
Or maybe just work with them directly to produce the flyers
and get them mailed out!
Of course, the flyers should contain
the positions of LOCAL candidates on abortion.
So the flyers should be tailor made for each county,
or at least every metropolitan area.
