" They aren't calling him "Lyin' Ted" anymore."

"Sen. Ted Cruz's stock is rising among members of President Trump's base who feel double-crossed after the president offered amnesty to illegals in the immigration debate. Some who opposed Mr. Cruz in his 2016 run for the White House are even clamoring for the Texas Republican to mount a primary challenge to Mr. Trump in 2020."

...

"I do not believe we should be granting a pathway to citizenship to anybody here illegally. I cannot for the life of me understand why so many Republicans are galloping to the left of Barack Obama on immigration," he said. "Granting citizenship to people here illegally is inconsistent with the promises we made to the men and women who elected us."

Trump gives away the farm to get the deal he wants.  Perhaps this is the best winning strategy, but considering that it is "our farm" that he's giving away, its only natural that many Conservatives are feeling "If I'm gonna get phucked, I'd sure like to get kissed".

CPAC is going to be interesting this year?  What do Conservatives stand for?  What do Conservatives stand against?  Should Conservatives go along to get along? (and figure that its better to give Trump a free reign and that's how we ultimately get what we want?)

If BANNON gets on CRUZ control TRUMP will regret the day he listened to JARVANKA to fire him. TRUMP whole campaign and acceptance came because of illegal aliens. He backs off that he is toast and CRUZ could be the guy in 2020.

Trump hasn't signed anything yet. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because to me, it looks like he's playing the left quite well.

Agree until he sign something it is all talking points about illegal aliens. Now DRAINING the SWAMP is another matter. If CRUZ goes after him in the a PRIMARY he sure has a lot to go after in TRUMP not Draining the Swamp. Just look at the AG BUT he is doing a GREAT job of protecting the Swamp but really gets after those POT heads. TC could be the GUY n 2020 if TRUMP continues his ways????

I don't think Cruz has any interest in 2020, if anything he might start looking at Pence's replacement slot for 2020 and then he'd be a shoe-in for 2024.
Yeah, all speculation, but stranger things have happened. I believe Pence was forced on Trump by the leftist GOP just like Reagan when they forced that ass hole Bush on him.

Could be and don't trust PENCE. Regardless, would like to see CRUZ in 2024 no mater who the RINOGOPe is backing. Mittens would luv to run again and that is why he wants in the SENATE to set it up IMO.

I agree.  Cruz says he's focused on his reelection as a Senator (of course that't what someone who wants to run always says).  I just found it both interesting and quite understandable why some Conservatives may be annoyed with Trump's offer.

Personally, I think Trump made the Democrat and offer they can't refuse, knowing quit well that they would refuse the offer rather than give him and the GOP an enormous win with the independent voters.  This will put Republicans who (at least appear to be) willing to deal in a far better place for the midterm than the Democrats who talk and talk and when it comes right down to it, do nothing!

I do think some at CPAC will not be pleased with the President's Amnesty proposal, though.  We'll see.

I tend to agree. Democrats have only one issue and it is DACA. If it is resolved before the mid terms they only have themselves to run on. That is a proven loser.

The more these DACA kids (young adults) pitch a fit and demand AMNESTY for themselves and their parents and chain migration for all their friends and relatives, the less and less sympathy they receive from American citizens! If they take the bait and we see Soro's bought and paid for "demonstrations" leading into the midterms, Americans may get behind a good old fashion Eisenhower style mass deportation!  The problem has been they have been putting a smiley face on a turd!  Now, they DACA kids are beginning to stink  and showing Americans what ungrateful little shits they are!!  (BTW; they aren't kids, they are American hating young adults!)

I suppose this is true to a limited degree but....

I  frequent sites where "original trumpers" still are openly hostile to people that weren't on the trump train from the git go and most definitely still mock Ted and just chalk his current stance on immigration to "well of course he can stake that position out on DACA and amnesty because he's just doing it to try and "look" knowing that some compromise will have to happen..."

I like the idea of Cruz taking over for Trump someday, whether 2020 or 2024.  But we need to be careful.  Don't set up a shaky Cruz campaign against some leftist fool with just enough lunatic support to beat him.

Trump has the formula for beating RINO's and leftists pretty well down pat.  That's an important piece of the puzzle.  We can't just toss that aside because Cruz is a better conservative, and we like him more.

Now Cruz replacing Pence on the ticket ?  Niiiiiiiiiiice.  Make Cruz VP, AND a SC Justice.  It would kill half of the left just from the gasket-blowing tantrum.
