"No First Use” and other bad ideas

They say death and bad news comes in 3's....
The first:   We got Corey Booker trying to erase all known USA history:
http://dailysignal.com/2017/08/17/cory-booker-proposes-removal-of-all-confederate-statues-from-capitol-building/
Quote"I will be introducing a bill to remove Confederate statues from the US Capitol building," Booker, D-N.J., tweeted. "This is just one step. We have much work to do."

Hey, bud...!   Can you do something USEFUL and remove Obamacare???  Really, be a leader among your Democratic Party, step out there, and introduce a single sentence bill to eliminate Obamacare.   Oh... I get it, you're such a Snowflake, just seeing a statue sets you scurrying off to a safe closet.  What a waste of time.

Remove anything and everything that ever spoke of slavery, because it hurts your feelings - the next stage is outright denial it ever happened!

The second:  This one is horrible.   Killing babies because of 'potential' genetic defects.
http://dailysignal.com/2017/08/16/eliminating-syndrome-children-not-something-proud/
QuoteIn France, an estimated 96 percent of children with Down syndrome are killed before birth. In the United States, estimates range between 61 percent and 93 percent.

There is no haven for these children, no safe place that tells them they are no more imperfect, no less beautiful, than you or I am.

Just 27 years ago, a future U.S. surgeon general, testifying before Congress, looked forward to the day when Down syndrome could be eliminated in America.

She did not mean by ameliorating the disease itself. She meant by searching for and destroying children who have the condition, which she said would have "an important, and positive, public-health effect."

This cold calculus is sadly common among professionals who live in the cost-benefit universe of "public health," where individuals are sometimes denied their dignity based on their perceived value to society.

I fear... this is where government run healthcare will eventually take us - if some bureaucrat determines an individual *might* be a burden to society, they are slated for termination.

History is replete with tales of "odd ball kids" who they thought would never amount to anything - growing up to become great inventors, scientists, humanitarians, and moderators of engaging forums.   Why throw away those opportunities for societal improvement?

The Third:  No first use Nuclear weapons policy?   Didn't we learn anything from "Rules of Engagement" which killed thousands of US military?
http://dailysignal.com/2017/08/16/bad-ideas-like-zombies-never-die-no-first-use-nuclear-policy-one/
QuoteSome argue that the United States should declare a "no first use" nuclear weapons policy.

This would mean that the United States would only use a nuclear weapon in response to another country's nuclear attack.

Proponents of this idea generally argue that an adoption of this policy would get us closer to a world without nuclear weapons.

Such optimism couldn't be further away from the truth. A no first use nuclear weapons policy would make the United States and allies less safe from devastating attacks.

Good read, scary thought!  :scared:   Once again, some starry-eyed, utopian-minded, marxist idiot wants to shackle the US defenses by removing another deterrent for the sake of feeling good.

I got 2 very fast Dobermans, a Bloodhound who likes drawing blood, and a little dog with an ear-splitting bark - guarding my property.   If someone suggested, "Hey, man... if you got rid of those mean looking dogs, people might drop by more often."

Ya think!?   Maybe the sign on fence didn't work, "No Trespassing!"  nor did the last one, "Warning Monkeys!  Their bite is quite painful & highly infectious!"   I've had to resort to a pair of snarling, black dogs to communicate: "I'm dumb, and I'll bite!"

Does it work?   Just ask the vagrant wearing fatigues we met walking on the road one day, "Oh, you're the guy with those big black Doberman's... do they bite?"   "Meh.. we don't know, I mean, nobody has come back to tell us!"

QuoteSouth Korea, Japan, and NATO member states in Europe rely on U.S. extended deterrence. They wish to not be obliterated by conventional weapons as much as they wish to not be obliterated by nuclear ones.

If we accept that nuclear weapons help to deter large-scale conventional attacks—as experience since the dawn of the nuclear age indicates so far—undermining that notion does not serve any useful purpose and could incentivize allies to find other options to provide for their own security.

Good God, this makes so much sense, it sounds like my wife telling me she made my favorite dish for dinner, Scalloped Potatoes with Ham, and I raced all the way home from work to enjoy it... with a beer.  The author, Michaela Dodge - has gotta be every guys dream girl - read the stuff she specializes in - WEAPONS!   http://www.heritage.org/staff/michaela-dodge?_ga=2.181033831.1191908721.1502994353-254303694.1502994353

For awhile there.... I thought the election of Donald Trump might signal a new level of intellectual honesty and rational thought.
Nope, not among the Leftists.  Their emotional dam has been filling up for 8 years, and we're being flooded with some of the most dangerous & dumbest ideas known to man.   Just as disturbing to hear barely a -peep- out of the GOP leadership, naturally raising the question, "Is the GOP breathing, or can we pronounce it a dead party without TEA?"

There is positive fallout from Trump's election and it is not anything he has done. His election has caused dem/leftists to become unhinged to the point they are exposing themselves for what they really are.
