Susan Rice requested to unmask names of Trump transition officials, sources say
Multiple sources tell Fox News that Susan Rice, former national security adviser under then-President Barack Obama, requested to unmask the names of Trump transition officials caught up in surveillance.
The unmasked names, of people associated with Donald Trump, were then sent to all those at the National Security Council, some at the Defense Department, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-CIA Director John Brennan – essentially, the officials at the top, including former Rice deputy Ben Rhodes.
The names were part of incidental electronic surveillance of candidate and President-elect Trump and people close to him, including family members, for up to a year before he took office.
When names of Americans are incidentally collected, they are supposed to be masked, meaning the name or names are redacted from reports – whether it is international or domestic collection, unless it is an issue of national security, crime or if their security is threatened in any way. There are loopholes and ways to unmask through backchannels, but Americans are supposed to be protected from incidental collection. Sources told Fox News that in this case, they were not.
This comes in the wake of Evelyn Farkas' television interview last month in which the former Obama deputy secretary of defense said in part: "I was urging my former colleagues and, frankly speaking, the people on the Hill – it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration."
Meanwhile, Fox News also is told that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes knew about unmasking and leaking back in January, well before President Trump's tweet in March alleging wiretapping...

This report indicates our old friend Susan Rice was the person responsible for "unmasking" Trump folks during the campaign. She was not exactly an unpaid intern in the administration. It is not a surprise this sleazeball would be involved with something like this, but this getting awfully close to Obama. One wonders if this just a one of a kind story or there is more of this type of activity by the Obama folks that has not been exposed. I personally would not be surprised that there is more to come.

I have been listening closely to the analysis of this situation and it confirms how devious the Obama administration was and is. As NSA she had legal access to the information and it is not illegal to "unmask" the names. What is illegal is the leaking of the names. The Obama crowd is truly teflon coated and this is why the administration lowered the bar on who could see this information knowing it would find its way to the MSM and they would be nowhere near it from a legal standpoint.

Yeah - let me save everyone (Congressmen) a lot of time and tell you how this goes. Rice will claim she unmasked at her discretion in the line of duty - all legally. She won't admit to any leakage - at least not until she gets older (bladder issues for us all eventually you know). No one will be able to chase the old leaks down - we haven't even been able to chase the recent Trump leaks down.
We'll have spent months of precious time, energy, and about $100M yapping about this. Just move on Congressmen! Get something meaningful done. So disappointing - no wonder Congressional approval ratings are so low.
POTUS need to incentivize progress. Example? Thirty day to get ACA repeal and / or replace passed or you lose your pay day-for-day. C'mon Trump! If there's anything you know about it's how to get a crew to get a job done. Let's see it!

The standard of prosecution for a CIVIL COURT CASE is much different than criminal charges, what is needed is a PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE. All the records would have to be subpeonead and all the dirt revealed, for free.... :popcorn:

Today Sean Hannity said that is was Susan Rice who persuaded Bill Clinton to decline Sudan's offer to turn over Osama bin Laden.
Susan Rice did say it was lawful even though two weeks ago she said she knew nothing about this. So basically Susan Rice lawfully didn't do something. :rolleyes:
