Oh come on now! Gub'ment is gonna create utopia for us!

Yes, I see robots taking over low skilled employee's jobs.   No work,  no health care, no time off and no unions.  What more could Seattle ask for.   The low skilled will need to move out of town, utopia at it's best.

I would bet they would not move but put their hands out. Knowing the libs who run Seattle and WA state they will wring their hands and spend. Of course you live there. If my observation is not correct please let me know.

I live in Washington state but not Seattle.  My daughter and her husband just sold their place in Seattle to get the hell out of there.  They said Enough Is Enough!

Surprise! $15 an hour minimum wage backfires

A February report from the Seattle Times revealed:

At the Clarion Hotel off International Boulevard, a sit-down restaurant has been shuttered, though it might soon be replaced by a less-labor-intensive cafe...

Other businesses have adjusted in ways that run the gamut from putting more work in the hands of managers, to instituting a small "living-wage surcharge" for a daily parking space near the airport.

That's not all. According to Assunta Ng, publisher of the Northwest Asian Weekly, some employees are feeling the pinch as employers cut benefits. She recalls a conversation she had with two hotel employees who have been affected by the wage hike:

"Are you happy with the $15 wage?" I asked the full-time cleaning lady.

"It sounds good, but it's not good," the woman said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I lost my 401k, health insurance, paid holiday, and vacation," she responded. "No more free food," she added.

The hotel used to feed her. Now, she has to bring her own food. Also, no overtime, she said. She used to work extra hours and received overtime pay.

What else? I asked.

"I have to pay for parking," she said.

I then asked the part-time waitress, who was part of the catering staff.

"Yes, I've got $15 an hour, but all my tips are now much less," she said. Before the new wage law was implemented, her hourly wage was $7. But her tips added to more than $15 an hour. Yes, she used to receive free food and parking. Now, she has to bring her own food and pay for parking.

Ya know, I just love it when libs are forced to suffer under their own idiotic policies.

I wish I could bottle it and mainline it.  When I come across stories like these, or some Hussein supporter getting gunned down while attempting a B&E on grannie, it totally brightens my day.

So where will the businesses flee to?
At present, to less stupid, hostile and oppressive states like Texas. If the Feds make all states more or less equally hostile, businesses will head for other countries or "shrug" and head for "Colorado".

As Ayn Rand indicated, it is the instinct and joy of creative and productive people to create and produce, but if government tries to enslave and chain them, they will cease.

I often wonder if the libs get it when they lose a job to their own stupidity?
Seriously, are libs really so stupid as to think some greedy bastard took his money and ran, or does it hit them, that leftist policies are in direct conflict with their own best interests?

Though I love libs getting mugged by their own belief system, one has to wonder, if someone can be that stupid,is there even a remote chance they can connect the dots.

I think they think that the manifestations of their ideology just need tweaking... and more tweaking... and more tweaking... but the GOP 'is just plain wrong though'.  That's the only explanation that I can weave from it.  They think they can tweak liberal-policies to Utopian-perfection.

Solar while I agree totally with what you say there.

The problem is, those of us who would never have instituted such policy in the first place, because we have more than two functioning brain cells, get to suffer right along with them.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am sick to death, of getting to suffer and be told I can just do without. Because of the actions of some brain dead liberal moron who I never cast a single vote to elect in the first place.

Yes, that is how liberals often go about doing their dirty work. That's how they sneak an ideology which America has rejected time and time again in the back door.

They institute a policy, and then "tweak and tweak and tweak" until what is left is no longer identifiable as  the policy they began with.

Take Obamacare for example.

That is a "law" which to start with the liberal leftists attempted to hide from the American people. (We have to pass the bill before Americans can know what is in it).

Yet now the bill is passed into law, now Americans know what is in it, yet now the liberals are also (illegally by fiat I might add) "tweaking" the law. Which by the time they finish will not be Obamacare as was passed into law, but rather the very socialized single payer, Federal Government power grab which not only have many warned us about, but which American's have time and time again rejected in their rejection of socialism.
