I really don't understand this. Please help me understand the reason to avoid a shutdown of the government now only to shutdown the government in Sept...?

What i'm missing here...?

Shutting down the government now would be a huge distraction when the GOP is trying to get something done on healthcare and taxes. Also, this was a CR which requires 60 votes in the senate to cut off debate. It has been a long time since we have actually done a budget. Budget items only require a simple majority in the senate. If the government shuts down in October it will be a whole different scenario. As i have posted. it is now in the GOP's court for the budget.

Trump is happy with this new budget and even further he's happy that the bill OUTLAWS a future border wall.

Now ... does anyone still doubt that he was merely a siphon for the DEMS?

Does anyone believe that the next justice he appoints to SCOTUS will be conservative?

ONLY a fool said he was not a Dem, with and R in front of his name.   I keep looking for the good he can do.  He has done a hell of a lot more then b o has done in 8 years. Just in his first 100 days.   Is Trump a RINO?  YES but so is half of the Republican Party and the people that crossed over and voted for him.

We will find  out  next year. If the dem party is dead then why was a democrat budget  just  passed by Paul Ryan?

If the Dems were ALIVE, Hillary would be President. And any party with as poor a "bench" as they have should simply disband and scatter.

That's not out of the realm of possibility. I could easily see the members jumping ship and supporting one of many 3rd party's, like the Green Party, Socialist party, even the communist party.
Though the Green party was the most closely aligned with that of the DNC platform, minus the corruption....yet to take place, they are after all, Marxists at the core, lying and corruption is the heart of the communist.

I can also see the conservatives moving out of the republican party and forming their own 3rd party, and the rinos welcoming the dems into the party. Only thing that has surprised me about this congressional house is that they did not elect pelosi as speaker.

That's exactly what the Establishment has been trying to accomplish for decades, to get Conservatives out of the GOP.
Think about it, the left seized the DNC and now have financial control over the RNC, so without a Dim party to fear, and a weakened Conservative 3rd party, the Marxist would achieve their lifelong dream of taking over the country.

There was a brief time about four or five years back when I grudgingly gave Sanders credit for at least being an open socialist. The same for bozos like Gus Hall the communist. They didn't lie, they stood up and took political punches for what they believed and that at least was on the surface where voters could see it and decide for themselves.

I didn't like his message. I did give him credit for his guts. I can't say it about Democrats. You bet I can keep my health care plan and my doctor. You bet I saved thousands just doing what they said. You can bet, but you'd lose. They delivered neither. The only thing they did deliver were more lies.

The bigger problem is that there are liberals who have (or will) run under the GOP umbrella because they know that the DEM party is pretty much dead and they can't win as a DEM.  Many people will still fail to do their research and vote for people just because they have an 'R' by their name.

What's new, this have been going on all my life time.  And that's one hell a lot of years.  Most people look only what in it for them.  They don't look and see who's been lying to them all these years.   When it sounds good run the other way and do one hell a lot of checking.

Back then the Donks weren't openly socialist. He stood out as being less a a flaming liar than the rest of them...back then. How many mansions does he own now?

Please reread my post. I clearly stated the test for the GOP comes in September when they hold all the cards. Trump made a good call not to shut down the government as that would have become a gift wrapped issue for the democrats.

September can come but this bill outlaws and prevents any future building of the wall.

" Even if Donald Trump somehow got the Mexicans to pay for it, this legislation would still prohibit him from building the wall.  Trump has incredibly agreed to give up the authorization already on the books to allow him to build a wall."
