"Gallego's loss was surprising given that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton carried the district by nearly 12 percentage points in 2016, while Uresti defeated Flores by 15 points to secure re-election. Prior to Flores's triumph on Tuesday, the district had not elected a Republican since the era of reconstruction."

And the polls showed the democrat winning this seat by a landslide, who would have thought. The dims are trying to spin this as a poor job of getting out the vote,(looked like the republicans had no trouble getting out the vote) but I believe people are seeing the shift to the far left the dims are taking and do not like it, even in their strongholds. I can't remember the correct definition, but does this fit into the "blue wave" the dims keep talking about?

I would say some people did not vote for their Dem party, they crossed over.

The dirty little secret that the media doesn't want you to know and the most important part to understand about this "win" is: Both candidates were Hispanic but the Republican Hispanic won the election in a district that is ... 66% Hispanic!
Point?

We've been led to believe that all (or the majority) of the Hispanics vote, or will vote Democrat!
Actually, Cruz was the only Hispanic running. "Berto" was the Dim candidates childhood nickname, he is actually Irish.

Isn't that because Republicans actually provide better opportunities for Hispanic voters? The Democrats like to talk up these big games but Republicans actually create jobs and grow the economy, as opposed to the Democrats who end up marginalizing them and play them out to be this victim of our messed up society to the point where they can't succeed? I'm not surprised by this.

It's not just the spanish speaking population that have benefited from President Trump, the black community is also reaping the benefits from his economy. Wages up, unemployment down. What did Obozo do for them? Not a damn thing except keeping them on the democrat plantation.

Yet the mainstream media is trying to play this game that Trump is the worst thing for minorities? I feel like he has done a lot more them in Obamas eight years in office.

He sure has helped the minorities a heck of a lot more than Obozo.

Abbot won the Latino vote over Davis. They're actually way more conservative than the MSM would have you believe.
