Please post your list Kroz. Since you mention there is a list of reasons. I don't know much about Mr. Chaffetz, aside from his PP hearing that is. And I was ok with the job he did there. There were things I think he should have corrected the old NAZI PP had sitting in front of him. But overall he did ok I guess. But if the list is convincing fwiw I'd be happy to write my Congressman. Except mine's retiring and at the moment I have zero idea who the new one will be. Leaving us with no representative in the Congress is Mr. Boehner's way of getting back at the constituents here. Who are so mad at him they wouldn't re-elect him anyhow.

Jason Chaffetz is....

Very articulate and effective communicator
Capable of using the Speaker platform to change public opinion
Good voting record 88% scorecard on conservatism
Effective Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
Has promised to reform the power structure of the House giving more power to the Committees.
Will pick Committee Chairmen based upon talent rather than tenure and seniority.

Let's try doing things differently and see if there is an improvement in function.  It is time for a new structure and methodology in the House!  Chaffetz is the man to do it.

The only thing I got from McCarthy's interview with Hannity is "We gotta have a strategy." which, as far as I could tell, he doesn't have.  I know that dumb people don't know they are dumb, but this guy is so dumb, he should know.  Also, even though he gave Mark Meadows back his committee chairmanship, the mere fact that he took it away shows a vindictive streak, which means business as usual in the House of Representatives.  I hope Chaffetz, by some miracle, can lead the Congress.  I am sure he would do a good job.

Well, we all know from experience that grassroots pressure on our Congressmen brings the desired result.

So, we have our work cut out for us.   I have emailed everyone in my address book to help get this done!  If everyone does the same, we could have another victory.  It takes all of us working together.  That is how it works!

I only saw part of the interview I think he would make a very good Speaker.

Don't know how a person can see one interview or part of a interview and thinks someone is good or even great.

It doesn't take much to determine if someone is dumb.  This guy even looks dumb.  I have certainly seen enough of Chaffetz to know that he would make a good Speaker of the House.  McCarthy's close association with the human Cheeto for years alone should disqualify him.  His voting record is abysmal.  He's another one who goes along to get along. If he becomes speaker, and it looks as if he will, it will just be same ol' same ol'.

McCarthy will not be elected if we do our part.  This is where the rubber meets the road.

We either put it in gear and rally our sphere of influence to contact their Congressman, or we are responsible for what we get!!

Yes, I think you are right.  Chaffetz mentioned that he and Meadows are good friends.  So I am sure he will get Meadow's support.

If any other forum members have a question about their Congress  man, it would be good to inquire and give your opinion.

If I had a question about Chaffetz, I wouldn't depend on our SC congressmen to give me a straight answer.  My bad luck.  I'll go with my gut on this one and say, "we'll see about Chaffetz".  It is extremely hard for me to go all in on any of them.  Wonder why?

You could email every Congressperson, not just yours.

You could email your friends to do the same.
