" ... per CBS ..."

shich means the numbers are biased to the low side.
No doubt. At least 3% of those polled claimed they were Pubs, when in fact they are leftist Dims hoping to skew the poll.
For CBS to even acknowledge this must have been painful.

Normally I would never recommend one sit through any speech, but this one had so many hidden elements in it, one that will be studied for centuries.
It's composition, message, hidden messages, where only on dissection can one see how it was all interconnected from start to finish. Trump's use of victims, and heroes to highlight what being American really means.
From start to finish, it was about how great America is, no excuses, just "In Your Face" American excellence. Trump told his speech writers what he wanted, how he wanted his message framed, and they far exceeded any speech in the last two centuries.

Take the time, I guarantee you won't regret it.

You can watch it here.

I was one of those that wanted President Trump to have the SOTU when Piglosi cancelled it from being held in the House Chamber. I was so friggin' mad that he didn't but I keep it to myself and waited to see what Trump had in store. Well hell was I wrong. The SOTU speech was off the charts badass. The reaction we witnessed last night and the reaction we are writing and reading about all day long, President Trump knew exactly what he was doing. Especially when he had the girls choir clapping like they was school girls.

Went to a friends house for a SOTU party, munching deer jerky and sipping localy produced wine. He had his 70 plus inch TV screen fired up.  Here is the consenus.  This really wasn't so much about Trump, (although he did blow the Horn on the outstandig economy) or the Dems, or Politicians in general....it was about the American people. everyone he had as a guest was GREAT in some way, from the Old Soldiers who stormed normandy's beaches, to Buzz Aldrin, The nazi death camp survivors, the cop shot 6 times trying to save people at the Synagog, the Reformed Prisoners to the Little Girl Battling Cancer.

The message was clear, America Was Great, Is Great and Will be Great again in the future IF YOU GIVE THE PEOPLE A CHANCE, Get Govt out of the way and let it happen. NO matter what you throw at us, we aren't stopping.

Trump said he had a surprise, I have to admit, this was a surprise, the impact it had on me and the severn other people watching was substantial.

The question is whether it moved the masses left or right any. I doubt if it moved many Dims at all (way left already). Nor Pubs (already in his corner). But I would think this would have moved some Independents toward the conservative values by seeing what is working and what the Dims stand for (or sit for / scowl at in this case).

We won the last presidential election but lost the popular vote. Control is at a tipping point. A big problem is the mass of electoral votes in the coastal states. We could pick up 80% of the Independent voters and I doubt that we would take either CA or NY.

Again, consider if states were allowed to choose to be under republic / constitutional law or socialism. We are that polarized. Have the socialist side succeed from the Union ... then build some more wall. Those stuck in socialist states would have to "immigrate" to free states. Not completely unprecedented - kind of like Europe except no country in Europe has our constitutional system. Then, after the socialist side implodes as the free side flourishes we re-vote as a nation and see if the socialists states learned a lesson ... or not. It's a bit of a fantasy at this point ... but we need some approximation to let the socialists separate and go live in their own vomit while the conservatives can focus on making progress. I'm sure there are other ideas that could move that way rather than a continued fight where the right and left oscillate control based on how the economy has done on the predecessor. No progress when the country just flips back and forth.

The idea is actually a variant  of the Ayn Rand idea - those who don't work but seek control are left without the doers. In this case, the conservatives (white and blue collar) are the doers and the dims are the socialists / politicians that steal the work of the doers.

BTW - did you catch that comment from Stacey Abrams rebuttal speech in the after-SOTU response ... the line about labor unions.

Quote
Under the current administration, far too many hard-working Americans are falling behind, living paycheck to paycheck, most without labor unions to protect them from even worse harm.

I wanted to throttle her at that point. But it shows that the Dims were taken by surprise when they lost the blue collar vote and they're going to try to retake the hearts of the blue collar workers; a smart strategy that will give them some power. The unions are easily bought with handouts and the union workers are sheep.

We're in an asymmetric battle against the socialists who are feeling comfortable enough now to come out of the closet in droves. It's much easier for the Dims to win the hearts of many than for us because they will give away free stuff to buy their power from their constituents. Conservatives operate on Godly principles and principles that bring natural economic growth to those who are willing and able to work.

"One nation under God"; He is in control either way. We are winning for now. Thank you President Trump. Keep up the solid work!

IMO..this won't be an issue this go around. The reason I say this is because there was a lot of conservatives that didn't think Trump would be a republican president with his democrat background. Hell his kids couldn't vote for him in the New York State primary. Then there was the Ted Cruz factor. A bunch of folks just thought it was the perfect time for a CONSERVATIVE to take the office of the presidency. This was our time and it just didn't happen and people resented that. Also a lot of folks didn't like the way Trump treated Ted Cruz and his family in the primary. I put myself in all of these categories and I wrote in Ted Cruz. Them are my sins to bare if Hillary would have won. You talk about dodging a bullet for being so selfish.

Now that the proof is in the pudding....I firmly believe the "popular vote" will not be a problem in 2020 for them reason I have stated above and the 82% of the Independent voters. President Trump prove me wrong so now it's my turn to prove him right.

Exactly! Those of us that refused to vote Trump came in around 30% of the base, that is a huge number who will now be voting Trump come 2020, and based on the Independent vote, which usually carries more Dims because they abandoned the Marxists. This is quite telling as to the future of the Dim party consistently losing power.

Agree. Here is one who was not totally sold on Trump, but he has convinced me he is the real deal. He is not, and never will be, a pure conservative. However, he is a true patriot who has the best interest of the folks at heart. This is not going unnoticed, except for a few RINO's in Washington. He is pulling in new followers. Let us not forget the democrats are doing everything they can implode the party. It all deems well for 2020.

Yep, Trump is in no way a real Conservative. With that said, everything he does is from the POV of Patriot, even when he spends like a leftist RINO, he has the nations best interests at heart.
Our so called leaders have been robbing our progeny blind for decades, and the only thing they have to show for it, is their swelling bank accounts, while our infrastructure crumbles, this is why Conservatives ignore Trump's Dim side, because it doesn't enrich anyone, and the dividends actually payout to the people of this nation in the form of safer roads and bridges etc.

Agree, Trump is picking up new followers daily, so by the time 2020 rolls around, the people will say, "Dim Party Who"?

LOL! god damn perfect. That was one of the best SOTU I have seen in my lifetime, and I'm an old-ish man now. These libs have the dumbest ideas for why they hate our President.

Case in point: Here in Houston we have a huge indian immigrant population. I work with a lot of these people at the company I'm at. All these indian guys today were trashing the State of the Union. Made my blood boil so I asked them why. All their talking points basically boiled down to this - "We hate white men." Of course they didn't say it in those words but it was clear as day.
Then one of the indian ladies quietly told me indian guys are just mad because Trump used to bang some indian supermodel named Aishwarya Rai that all these guys are sprung on and they can't get over it. Fucking pathetic. Always an agenda with these people with no actual thought or intelligence.

On another note, I looked up Aishwarya Rai. Whew! Good work Mr. President! Sorry Indian Libtards. Your number 1 girl was first MAGA-owned, by a WHITE MAN, who just so happens to be OUR President hehehe Lucky bastard lol #MAGA

Hmmm, I searched and found no evidence that Trump dated her.
