Something Pubs Need To Consider
« on: January 04, 2013, 10:24:41 AM »
And apparently ignored this last time, is the young voter, the Dims are doing all they can to secure these people, the GOP{ better be looking ahead for a change, instead of playing defense all the damn time.

In 2020—the first presidential election where all Millennials will have reached voting age—this generation will be 103 million strong, of which about 90 million will be eligible voters. Those 90 million Millennial eligible voters will represent just under 40 percent of America’s eligible voters.

I think the GOP really needs to fight back on the BS that the Dem's are the only party that looks out for the interest of the minority.  I believe that the primary cause of Obama getting elected is how the minorities voted for Obama with such a high margin.  If you get a small group of voters to vote nearly unanimously for one candidate the other candidate needs to be overwhelmingly popular among the rest of the voters.

I think the media avoids talking about this but when 20+ percent of the voters vote nearly unanimously for Obama it is not likely that any of the other groups will be so polarized that such a majority can be overcome.

Then toss in the takers who do not want their free ride cut off well beating Obama in my view was a nearly impossible task.  Remember that the majority of the people on welfare are white, Obama started with a big head start.   I think 26 districts in the Philadelphia did not have a single vote cast for Romney.  I think that is why every single minority conservative gets attacked viciously so that they appear to not represent their race at all.   I listened in disgust as the Dem's during the convention talk about how minorities were not represented at the Republican convention.  I watched a good amount of it and quite a few of the speakers were from one minority or another and all of them were nominees of their party.  Meaning that in the primaries where the Rep party picks their candidate they selected these people to represent them.  I did not hear one word in protest that the Rep party did indeed support both women and minorities.

I do not disagree that attention has to be given to the younger voters but I think worst they may be skewed toward a liberal view it will not be all of them that feel that way.  Less liberals would be good but I think the GOP really needs a way to message the African American's in a way that they come to understand that voting for a Rep is probably going to actually going to be in their best interest.   Not sure how you point out how the Dem's have conned them up to this point but if that point can be made the GOP will have a chance to succeed in future elections.

Why all this pandering to groups. We're supposed to be AMERICANS. They all need to be educated as AMERICAN and not young skulls full of mush or Africans living in America.  I'm tired of so many AMERICANS who have divided THEMSELVES from the rest of my country. I refuse to pander to anyone.

I think there is a huge difference in pandering and educating.
Point was, that nearly a third of the voting public will be young millenials, we need to target them yesterday.
Boos right, the GOP needs a new PR firm.

I take offence in that seeing I have some African blood running in my veins, I also have Indian and white blood running in my veins. And God knows what other blood that's running.
We not only have young skulls full of mush or Africans living in America but a host of others young skulls full of mush living in America.

Were you offended?

Yes. We should pander to you and your "special needs" because you have some "special" blood.

Nobody gives a damn (and shouldn't) if I'm offended by something. I have no idea why you would declare your "offense" or why I should care.  Please tell me why you deserve to be pandered to because of your belief in your "special blood."

Yes. ALL people need to educated as AMERICANS and stop this dividing.  The GOOD news is that the young don't vote.

I can't find the link, but I remember a radio talk show host (can't remember which one) who said more whites over the age of 65 voted than all blacks combined.  Yet we keep chasing after groups that know nothing else but to vote Democrat. My father was one of those. He worshiped FDR and believed he got us out of the Depression. It was true of my father, the unions, and blacks. I don't hold out hope that any of these groups (as an entire group) can be reached. Add young women who don't expect to marry. They look to Godvernment as their "spouse."

Well said!

Consider this. Pope John Paul II was one of the most popular popes with young Catholics that has been seen in quite sometime. Was this because he tailored his policies and message to "go after" the young Catholics?

NO! He was also one of the most Conservative Popes (as far as dogma was concerned) too!

But, you know what? Those young Catholics knew what he stood for and they knew exactly where they stood with him. And they respected that.

We don't need to pander to various demographic sub groups, we just need men and women in office who will stand up for what they believe in!

Yes! It really is just that effing simple!

The problem is very basic

Us: Obamacare is unconstitutional and will never work. Socialized medicine has never worked and is it financially unsustainable.

Them: Why do you want people to die in the gutter?

Us: Social Security is unsustainable as it is.

Them: Why do you want old people to live on cat food?

Us: Welfare needs to be restructured. We need to help the poor no subsidize them.

Them: Why do you hate black people?

Yes, which is why we need to be targeting them now and not take for granted they will see the light on their own.
It's like assuming every child has an innocent heart, until they kill, then wonder why.
Libs know this and target kids all the time like the rock star image they gave Husein, and those high school mush minds grew up to voting age and voted the Marxist in.

We need to be going after the next voting group with a vengeance and quit taking them for granted.
There are so many ways, the leftists have them for 13+ years all throughout their formative years, we need to combat that through vouchers, music, media of all kinds, as well as video games.

The left has a death grip on all of those, and we combat it with nothing?

Us: We need to get people to work, take responsibility for their lives, and start saving money for retirement.

Them: People that save money are greedy. Same with people that invest their after tax income. We must impose higher taxes on investment income, as well as a very stiff death tax on estates. These ill gotten gains belong to the "People", and will be properly distributed by the government.

What offends me is a republican acting like a democrap. So as to not offend me, i'm thinking the republicans need to fold or just claim democrap status and let the consevatives have their party then I won't be offended anymore and then I can rest on my couch drinking a nice cup of hot "TEA" watching Atlanta Falcon Football.
