Most state workers are forced into the pension system...they have no choice whether to participate or not...mind you this is STATE PENSION SYSTEMS not private and the employees are FORCED into paying into it like social security..

    When I was a patrolman we dd not pay into social security..I may be wrong but I believe it was reagan passed the law we must pay into social security.
    The actuaries from my <gasp. Police union investigate private investment over forced pension and social security payments and determined we would make far more in retireement benefits NOT BEING IN THE PENSION and SOCIAL SECURITY but we were given no choices...they forced me to pay they stole my money...now they can kiss my rosey old retired ass... ;D ;D ;D

Hmmmm....Did they force you into keeping your job also.  You sound like a very bitter man.  In the 55+ years that I worked, if I did not like it I just move on.  Now I would say sometime down the line you will need to move on, if not you could lose it all.
