Should the TSA be unionized?

Should the workings of government be subject to union influence? Critical government agencies cannot afford to be in "collective bargaining" or what ever else you choose to call it. In critical situations, we can't afford to be threatened by a strike when it places the country or government in danger. The TSA is one of those critical agencies, along with the air controllers, border agents, FBI, NSA, CIA or the US Military that we cannot allow to be controlled by a labor union. That places unions in a position to influence government operations and government policy and also allow union leaders access to classified government records. Unions, in this instance, are not trustworthy and do not function in the best interest of the American people.

Even FDR recognized that unionized federal worker groups would be a threat to the nation.

This one is high on my list for the new Congress -- disband all federal worker unions. It will take a few years to get it done, but it MUST be done.

It is my prediction that TSA workers WILL be unionized, probably by SEIU. It is wrong for the country, but then there are a LOT of things happening these days that are wrong for the country.

Decertify all federal, state and local unions. Gone. Done. Take it back to the states to decide if unions are a good thing for their state. Let the courts fight it out over the federal unions.

Leave union funds depleted by not topping them up with sweetheart deals in the earmarks. The 111th Congress performed new feats in that area, helping their thugs and halfwits get paid back for being the #1 contributor to the Democratic Party or to Obama's own campaign and many of the 2010 races as well. End it. No more contributions from places ruled to be illegal---like a union.

Then take a chainsaw to the federal deadwood. Bring in Al Dunlap the downsizing barracuda (and have Grover Norquist right there with him, or at least on speed-dial). Reduce government to what fits inside a bathtub, and then drown even that. Norquist's sentiments. I agree.

To have the SEIU represent the TSA is equivalent to having the country taken over by a foreign government. Our elected representatives would no longer be able to govern and expect the government employees to perform their assigned duties without the approval of some asshole union leader. This country cannot afford union control of critical government departments.

God love ya, SS, you're preachin' to the choir! ;D

When labor unions really got their start, back in the 1930s, their targets were the big manufacturing outfits. GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc. Unions organizing government workers... unheard of. The obvious conflict of interest was too hideous to contemplate.

Nowadays, there are more union members in government than there are in the private sector. And collectively, government employee unions accounted for more campaign money donated to the Democrat cause in 2010 than any other group. Government employee unions ponied up something close to $100 million to get their pals elected.

So, you agree with me, that the unions are influencing government policy and helping to destroy our economy. Their sock puppet Obama (and that's all he is) is their front man in government control. We can no longer preach to the choir. We need to be broadcasting this to as many people as we can. 2012 promises to be one nasty election.

Damn! I think we got us a pep rally goin'!

Of course I agree with ya. Did you think otherwise?  ;)

Yes, 2012 is the key. We did great things in this last election, but it's really the next one that matters. There will be something like 30 Senate seats up for grabs, and of course every single House seat, on top of the presidential election.

Hindsight tells me that the 1980 election was probably the most pivotal in my life. Foresight tells me that 2012 will be the most pivotal in my future.

Just my way of thinking, no government job should be unionized.

Absolutely not. I have a problem with unionized public safety workers...but that is just me. They would probably go with those commie maggot AFSCU whose stench permeates the Govt like a three week old corpse.

I thought Ronald Reagan made his opinion of federal unions VERY clear when he fired all of those air traffic controllers and dissolved PATCO.

Unions have outlived their usefulness.  They are more corrupt now than they have EVER been, and that is saying a lot.

The biggest surprise to me is that the illegal aliens from Mexico have not unionized yet.  What would they call themselves........the Taking Advantage of our Country Organization.  TACO!

I absolutely agree that Union Leadership is negatively influencing govt today.

I have a short reply; Nothing should ever be unionized.
