Not sure if this was posted already, so slap me if it was, just don't call me Surely...

A senior Trump administration official was fired following criticism in a private speech of President Donald Trump's policies and his inner circle of advisers.

Craig Deare, whom Trump appointed a month ago to head the National Security Council's Western Hemisphere division, was on Friday escorted out of the Executive Office Building, where he worked in Washington.

A senior White House official confirmed that Deare is no longer working at the NSC and has returned to the position he previously held at the National Defense University. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an incident not otherwise made public, and provided no further details.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday that Deare "was sent back to his original position." Asked if government employees should be concerned that they could be fired for criticizing the president, she said: "I don't think any person that is there in order to carry out the president's agenda should be against the president's agenda."

Current and former administration officials say Deare's termination was linked to remarks he made Thursday at a private talk at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

According to one person who attended the discussion, Deare slammed the Trump administration for its policies on Latin America, specifically its rocky start to relations with Mexico. That person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a private event.

I'll start off by saying that I tend to treat anything labeled "AP" as probably having come from the fiction shelves of the local library. So we'll have to see what information follows.

Meanwhile:
QuoteThe person who attended the Wilson Center discussion also said that Deare openly expressed frustration over being cut out of most of the policy discussions about Mexico, saying that members of Trump's inner circle, including chief strategist Steve Bannon and Trump's son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, have not consulted with NSC directorates as the White House formulates policy.
Guy sounds like a prog on immigration matters - at least when it comes to the southern border. Makes one wonder how he got appointed in the first place.  One thing for sure, though, if one desires to influence policy, the last thing you do is call the boss (or his policies) names or throw a tantrum.

Kind of makes me wonder if Trump is going to be the type who surrounds himself with nothing but yes men.  That would not be good.

I think Trump would call this an unauthorized leak.  Someone head may roll along with Craig Deare, as Trump is not happy with leaks.

I concur. It was the only article I could find at the moment unfortunately.
I too was wondering how the guy could slip through the radar as a Progressive only to turn on the guy that hired him.
Sadly the article raised more questions than it answered.

There becomes a fine line between surrounding one's self with "yes man" and demanding loyalty. In this case, I think Trump was correct. The guy speaks before a group in open disagreement with Trump policy. Wrong. If he had a disagreement he should have gone to the source. Sounds like a disgruntled bureaucrat to me.

It is conceivable that the progs are sending in Trojan horses like this one to monkey wrench everything Trump does. They are supposed to be moles and low profile but they just can't help themselves.

Dead on. There are plenty of these folks in the bureaucracy. However, as you so smartly identified, liberals cannot hide their true intentions for long.

Only a complete IDIOT would say stuff like this, just a couple of weeks at work... an nobody wants an 'idiot' especially a 'complete idiot' working for them.

If it were me - I'd call him into the office, ask him if he SAID those things, a simple "yes" or "no" - and fired him, regardless of his answer.
If 'yes' then we need staff unity, he's not one of us, if 'no' then we don't need two-faced liars.  Total time:  <1 minute wasted.

I doubt he was some kind of deliberate "plant" - he might have been genuinely frustrated, but.... his whining like a teenage girl automatically marks him as ineligible staff material.  At this stage in the Trump administration, people identify themselves as 'part of the solution' or 'part of the problem'... he choose the latter, hence, he is a 'complete idiot'.

And fire the guy that recommended him for the position, more than likely another leftover prog/Marxist hanger-oner.

Well that's something to his credit, being a "Complete Idiot" and all, as compared to most on the left being half-assed idiots.
