Poll
Question:
Who will be the next SCOTUS Pick Be?
Option 1: Brett Kavanaugh
votes: 3
Option 2: Amy Coney Barrett
votes: 7
Option 3: Mike Lee
votes: 2
I only chose these three because it appears they are the top tier Trump has to work with.
Yeah, he may pull a Trump card, and I've no doubt we can trust him, but from the three, who is your pick?
I have to go with Brett Kavanaugh.
Amy Coney Barrett, abortion may hold he back. The Lib's will hit her over the head with it 24/7
Mike Lee is needed in congress right now.
Brett Kavanaugh. Amy Coney Barrett's position on stare decisis will probably chase away Collins and Murkowsk because of the possibility of Roe V Wade being argued before the SCOTUS again.
I should have asked Who do you want? Not who do you think he'll pick..
Trump stated he wants a Justice that can be on the court for 40 to 45 years, that's why I think it just might be Lee.
Well, the left certainly despises Brett.

My gut says Barrett. However, Collins could be a problem.

She could be a provocative choice, being a woman and all. But I think she'll be passed over for her age, no other reason.
Trump has some really good choices this time and I believe he really wants a solid Conservative like Bork and could give a shit what the Dims think.
I have a question...It seems to be Roe v. Wade is the sticking point. Now my question is, isn't Roe v. Wade settled law or can they go back and reverse it...?

With a Conservative SCOTUS majority, when the right case comes along, it would be reversed because it has always been bad law.
It literally strips Men of their say over the fate of their own child.
The left knows this and it scares the shit out of them, but there's nothing stopping us from lying to them and telling them it's settled law, they lie for a living, let them see what it feels like for a change.

It is my understanding that it would not be a simple suit to overturn Roe vs Wade. However, another suit to come at the affects of Roe vs Wade would be the vehicle to undermine Roe vs Wade.
A reflection.
Several honorably support Senator Mike Lee/Utah.
Yet consider some other Senators:
* Sen. Collins /Maine; a hard core lefty and relentless
foe of Trump who will seek any excuse to defeat or
embarrass him. Maine, an irrelevant appendage,
will be down to 3EC Votes in due course; so let's
save time and tow it into Hudson's Bay now.
* Sen. Burr / NC; another Never-Trumper aptly related
to his corrupt and disloyal ancestor Aaron.
There's plenty more but the matter is obvious.
The Senate is a hotbed of Trump opponents!

Opponents yes, but not the winning side to be on. As evidenced in how the Establishment has been corralled at every turn and forced into concession to Trump's agenda.
Being anti-Trump in the GOP is akin to a KKK member at an ML King rally.
Okay, I'll do it.

Solar,
As you well know, the Greeks and Romans accepted dissent
in politics but refused to tolerate insubordination which they
dealt with, to their credit, harshly and quickly.
We moderns, enamored of piety and sanctimony in politics,
think any/ every idea/opinion has merit; the fantasy that
reverberates 24/7/365 in the US Senate.

To think, we used to have duels to settle these matters.
Would it be too much to ask, that our so-called Representatives take up a long-held tradition of settling matters on the green at 20 paces?

Walks,
Given their level of focus, suggest we let them fire away
after shaking hands.

Better yet, a fully armed audience gives them a headstart of 20 paces before we open fire.
Apparently Trump met with Judge Raymond Kethledge and they really hit it off.

Still have my fingers crossed for the Indian, Amul Thapar or Amy Barrett.
I'm holding out for Lee.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned. Trump is good at playing chess. I think he wants to keep Lee in congress because why risk losing a seat? So it's back to Barrett whom the democrats will try to Bork more than any other nominee and Kavanaugh. kethledge could be a problem.
Here is something very interesting that you guys might wanna keep an eye on. Brett Kavanaugh was part of the Vince Forster suicide investigation. I wonder if he is nominated will the panel ask questions about the Vince Foster suicide case.
Guess what this de-classified document leans in the direction that Vince Forster did not commit suicide.

According to the NYT Kethledge is almost a non starter.

Ya gotta love the irony here. Last week the Dims were all up in arms about separating illegal children from their alleged families, and this week, they're panty bunched over the right to kill children.
But that aside, note how McCON-nel is trying to get a moderate seated.
Senator Mitch McConnell, the top Senate Republican, has cautioned Mr. Trump that Judge Hardiman and Judge Kethledge would be the safest picks in terms of Senate confirmation, a process that may have to take place without any Democratic support.

McConnel is worried about Collins and Murkowski. I wish they'd just change parties already.

They did, they joined Mitch's Establishment party.

Is the guy even a lawyer ? Though I have read that this isn't an absolute requirement, that all walks of life are eligible. That would be a hoot.
I think I predicted such a thing in the other thread.
Yes .......... I did indeed.

Yep, no actual qualifications other than being an American. Remember Bush's pick, her only qualification was she was a Christian.
I think her name was Harriet Myers?

Ya know, Trump should have picked me for SCOTUS.
Vote for me!
I already sit on a bench in my robe all day long judging people and castigating liberal idiocy.
And the next Justice of the Supreme Court is Kavanaugh

He's Jewish. Of course he's a lawyer...
...or, a doctor.
But, he is a lawyer.

What has now surfaced over Kavanaugh, are the libertarian
cranks, such a that Fox yapper; Napolitano. So a reflection.
* Principled Conservatism emerged from the Ancients;
most notably, the Greeks, among them Aristotle.
* Libertarianism emerged during the French Enlightenment
promoted by the likes of Rousseau, St.Just, Diderot and Voltaire.
They have nothing philosophical in common, despite the
assertions of our so called social conservatives.
Suspect that the most vocal opposition to Kavanaugh will
emerge from the libertarian gang whose mantra is:
" Freedom trumps all, even principle; we are all equal; we are all brothers";
arguably three of the most brainless nostrums ever created.
