Schlafly unloads on Rubio: 'He betrayed us all'
Conservative icon calls media favorite 'lackey for the establishment'

In 2009, Marco Rubio was a plucky challenger for the open Senate seat in Florida, taking on incumbent Republican Gov. Charlie Crist. Though Rubio was trailing in the polls, one leading conservative activist thought he had real potential and vowed to help him.

"When Marco Rubio ran for the Senate in Florida, I think I was the first one to endorse him," said Phyllis Schlafly. "I made a trip down to Florida in 2009 just for the purpose of helping him."

But Schlafly, a legendary conservative activist, author and WND columnist, now says she is bitterly disappointed by Rubio's record.

"Once he got elected, he betrayed us all," she told WND. "He said he was against amnesty and against the establishment. And once he got in, right away, he became an agent of the establishment. And now, of course, he's big for amnesty and letting all the illegal immigrants in. He betrayed us a number of times on that issue."

Not only accurate, but damning as well. Considering how the Trumpettes took her words like Gospel when she praised Trump, they'll take this to heart when Trump drops out because a lot of his base was looking at Rubio as the second coming as a replacement candidate.

This will only benefit Cruz in the long run.

I would say that it isn't easy as an American worker to trust any politician.  I believe that Cruz is the best candidate for America.  As long as he continues to ring true he probably has my support.  He is the only candidate that the establishment won't support and that in itself speaks loudly.

Is Cruz perfect? Hell no! But when one considers the rest of the field, they're closer to socialists than they are Conservatives.
This literally puts Cruz in a league all his own, one I'm more than willing to put my support behind.

Here's my problem with lectures from Trump SUPPORTERS. I have to admit, I liked Trump AT FIRST, when he said we're gonna deport all ILLEGALS  The problem is, when pressed by the MSM, he was hardly "tough." He folded like a cheap suit. He said, "they have to go, BUT THEN, THEY CAN COME BACK."

What the hell is that? They broke our laws coming here, then they steal an identity and commit other crimes and Trump promises to bring them back!

That's when Trump lost me completely.

Here's when Cruz won me over completely. When he told that young woman, "we are a Nation of laws. We will deport you."

That took guts in an election cycle

You must not have been a Trump supporter for very long. Seems to me it was within a couple of weeks of first anouncing that he came up with that particular absurdity.
