Most states have laws against striking and drawing unemployment, so yes, they will be tapping the union funds.

Sorry
They gave it all to the executive board and the Dem's.

Twinkies are sugary (in a good way), but not gritty.  I will miss them--even though I had my first one today, in decades.  I HATE what the Teamsters did to this company.  There were a few who wanted to work, but the bullying of these thugs prevented them, and now everybody loses! :cursing:
You mean what the CEOs did to the company. Just saying.

If by that, you mean letting the union dictate terms, you would be correct.

Exactly, two unions were in play here (I know, can you imagine paying two sets of dues, etc., no wonder why they were looking for more money) the employees union had come to an agreement already, it was the bakers union that refused to budge.  The workers were told that if they did not return to work by 5pm on Thursday, Hostess would close.  The union advised that Hostess was bluffing, they were wrong.

Just a heads up.  You do not pay two sets of dues.  You only pay for your union.
Some shop have 3 or 4 unions.

Amazing isn't it. After all this time, unionized workers can't seem to get it through their heads that the reason they have a job and receive a paycheck, is because of the business. Which makes the survival of the business far more important than the survival of the union. Yet over and over again, you see them back the union, screw over the business, and then stand there with stupid looks on their faces when "all of a sudden" they're unemployed. Here's a thought experiment for every union worker out there. The Union disappears tomorrow morning; do you still have a job? Now flip the switch, the business disappears tomorrow morning; do you still have a job? If they're so stupid they don't recognize that then, the hell with them!

The attitude of the workers here in NC, is that they won. I don't understand it.

They think "someone" will come along, buy up the business, and reopen the plant. The steel workers in the Midwest, and the textile workers in the South, are also still waiting for the plants to reopen/sarc.

Yeah. They're gonna be waiting a long time.
The guy they just re-elected has promised to punish producers, punish businesses with Obamacare, raise corporate taxes...............

Nobody in their right minds would open a business right now. Bimbo might buy Hostess and move all manufacturing to Mexico, but that won't help the union workers.

Speaking of which, can you even imagine the outrage from the left, if some rich, conservative white dude owned a company called Bimbo.

I am not questioning whether you are right (tone can be difficult), how are the dues distributed to make it worthwhile for either/both union(s)?

I've been arguing this Hostess thing on FB with some lib friends of mine.

You can have more then one labor union working in one shop.

If your a Baker you pay the Bakers union.

If your a Truck driver you pay the Truck drivers union.

If your a Electrician then you pay the Electricians union.

This way your not allowed to do the other persons work.

In a no-union shop I could do all the above jobs.

It's why when something is spilled in a union shop and the janitor, or PC speak (maintenance guy) is off, the spill sits until management cleans it up.
I know that sounds weird, but you hear it all the time in a union shop "Ain't my job".
